Sacha grew up in a family of 5, including his father, Gerald Baron Cohen – who owns and runs a clothing shop, his Israeli mother, Danielle Naomi (nee Weiser) – who worked as a movement instructor, and his 2 older brothers – Amnon and Erran. Simon Baron-Cohen was born into a middle-class family in London, England on August 15, 1958. He grew up with 4 other siblings – an older brother, a younger brother and two sisters.

He obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Sciences from New College, Oxford, England, and then proceeded to the Institute of Psychiatry of Kings College, London before then proceeding to the University College, London where he obtained his Masters of Philosophy in Psychology. He is currently a Professor of Development Psychology at the University of Cambridge, and he has done very extensive work on Autism. In 1985, he was credited with formulating the blindness theory of autism, and he collated his findings and published them by 1995.
