Unarguably one of the most influential people in the world, Simon Cowell is best known as one of the most successful celebrity reality TV judges in this generation. The English television judge has tasted success in the entertainment industry as a producer, judge, music lord, and CEO of the entertainment company Sypho. He stands out as a regular face on the American TV talent competition series America’s Got Talent, American Idol, and The X Factor as well as the British television talent competition shows, The X Factor, Pop Idol, and Britain’s Got Talent.
As a music elite, he has promoted, produced, and signed several albums and singles for scores of singers, including CNCO, One Direction, and boyband Westlife. In addition to his stint on the television, Simon Cowell is a philanthropist who has been involved in charity programs for decades.
Early Life and Age
Simon Cowell was born Simon Phillip Cowell on October 7th, 1959, in Lambeth, London, England, to Julie Brett and Eric Selig Phillip Cowell, who is from a Jewish family. His mother, Julie, was a socialite and ballet dancer and his father was a property developer, estate agent, and music executive. Cowell has a younger brother called Nicolas Andrew Cowell, a renowned British estate agent and director and co-founder of Estate Office Property Consultants; a half-sister named June Cowell; and three half-brothers – John Cowell, Tony Cowell, and Michael Cowell.
The X Factor star attended Radlett Preparatory School and later the independent Dover College. He would proceed to Windsor Technical College after excelling in English Language and Literature to further his education. At the college, Cowell gained another GCE in Sociology and left upon graduating. In his budding years, he took a few menial jobs to make ends meet —including working in the mail room.
Is Simon Cowell Married, Who Is The Wife Or Girlfriend?
The popular television and music mogul has never been shy to give whatever he wants in life a chase. In fact, Cowell considers himself to be a ladies man and apparently he seems to be one. With respect to his love life, the television star is currently living under the same roof with his partner and their adorable son Eric Cowell.
Prior to their relationship, Lauren, a New York socialite, was formerly married to Andrew Silverman, a prominent real estate heavyweight with whom shares a son named Adam Silverman (born 2006). Simon and Lauren first met in 2004 at Barbados’ Sandy Lane resort, where the latter was on holiday with her then-husband Andrew. The two eventually made their ways into each other’s arm in the year 2009 even though Lauren was married at the time.
Their feelings for each other grew beyond its boundary in 2013 when Silverman discovered that she was carrying Cowell’s child. The two were then forced to make their relationship public, leading to Andrew filing a divorce, citing adultery as the main reason for the divorce. Their divorce was subsequently finalized in November of the same year and Simon was charged to stay away from Lauren’s first son, Adam or face a penalty worth $50,000.
The New York socialite gave birth to Cowell’s first child (Eric Cowell) on the 14th day of February 2014. He was named after the English reality television judge’s father, Eric Cowell.
Before hitting it off with Silverman, Simon had two failed relationships with makeup artist Mezhgan Hussainy and entertainment journalist Terri Seymour (who he was engaged to from 2010- 2011) as well as a short-lived relationship with a former Playboy model in 2012.
Why Is He Popular?
Cowell is popular for so many things. Over the past decade, he has grown to become a legend not just in the United Kingdom but also around the world. The music mogul has been at the forefront of entertainment history for years and he’s apparently good at it – his business has been putting enough cash in his pockets as well garnering hin huge success.
But to be more specific, Heightline can establish that Simon’s determination, ruthlessness, total bluntness (what he personally calls honesty), addictive ideas, and his deep pockets which stemmed from his involvements on American Idol, America’s Got Talent, The X Factor, and Syco, a British entertainment company he founded, are just some of the reasons why he’s so loved.
Though he was formerly a worker in a record company mail room, Simon Cowell is the type of guy who doesn’t give up easily, he is well-known for being cold-blooded when it comes to his business. On several occasions, we’ve watched him ‘crumble’ people’s dreams on several shows by telling them bitter truths about their talent.
Interestingly, despite the kind of person he is, Cowell has had millions of entertainment lovers glued to their screens on shows like Britain’s Got Talent and X-Factor over the years. As a business-oriented person, Simon has made millions from his wealth of business channels, making more money than most of us could ever imagine. As one of the highest paid TV personalities right now, the A-lister has a net worth of $550 million.
