Jamie Lee Curtis was born in Los Angeles, California, on 22nd November 1958 to famous actors, Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh. She was raised with her sister, Kelly Curtis, who is also an actress. Sadly, her parents got divorced in 1962.

She attended Choate Rosemary Hall private school where she graduated from in 1976. Jamie was a cheerleader during her years at Harvard-Westlake School in Los Angeles. After high school, the emerging star was set to major in social work in the University of the Pacific, California but dropped out after one semester in order to pursue a career in acting.

Jamie Lee Curtis made her first movie appearance in the 1978 film, Halloween. After this, she appeared in several other horror movies, establishing herself as a queen of the genre. In 1983, she bagged a BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role; this was for her role in Trading Places.

The actress also won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy for her roles in A Fish Called Wanda and True Lies. Other memorable films by the beautiful actress include Blue Steel, Freaky Friday, and Anything But Love. In 1998, the veteran actress appeared in Nicholas’ Gift which won her the Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in Miniseries or a Movie for the first time.
