Her notable roles include Joy Scroggs in the sitcom Hot in Cleveland and as Prudence Anne “Blue” Bartlett in Throb.

Leeves is not only an actress but doubles as a talented dancer, singer, comedian, as well as a TV producer. We take a look at details regarding her professional and private life.

Bio (Age)

Leeves was born Jane Elizabeth Leeves on April, 18th, 1961 in a little town in Essex called Ilford to parents Collin and Ruth Leeves. She has a sister named Kathryn Leeves. Her family would come to relocate to Crawley in Western Sussex and subsequently to East Grinstead.

Growing up, her mother instilled the love of ballet in her and sent the young Jane to the Bush Davies School of Dance where she trained as a ballet dancer and worked as a model. Her dancing ability got her to make her very first film appearance in Monty Python’s The Meaning of Life.

Her love for ballet was derailed as she had to abandon her hopes of making a long career in it as a result of an ankle injury she sustained earlier on in her life. Leeves reportedly moved to New York at the age of 21 with $1000 to pursue her acting career, although she had to move back when things did not immediately go according to plan.

She made her acting debut in the 1981 TV film Nice to See You where she did reasonably well, thereby earning her other roles including one as Hill’s Angel in The Benny Hill. Her next major small-screen gig came in Throb which unfortunately didn’t last as long as she might have liked.

Post-Throb, Jane Leeves got to portray Audrey Cohen in the sitcom Murphy Brown. The role of Daphne Moon in Frasier which premiered in 2003 would be her next major role. Leeves then had a role in Miracle on 34th Street, a 1994 Christmas film.

In 1996, Leeves was chosen to do voice work on two movies – James and the Giant Peach and The Great War and the Shaping of the 20th Century. She ventured into a new terrain when she provided the voice of the motherly Ladybug in the animated feature James and the Giant Peach.

Leeves seems to have slowed down in her career and only occasionally takes up guest parts in TV shows, as well as lend her voice to animated characters.

Janes Leeves has obviously enjoyed an exponential rise in her career and has firmly established her name in Hollywood’s sands of time. Her role in Fraiser earned her a peak salary of $367,500 per episode. In addition to the money she earns from acting, Jane Leeves also monetizes from her own production company, Bristol Cities. The kids have David Hyde Pierce and John Mahoney as their godfathers.

Leeves’ family stretches beyond her own biological children. She considers the family of her Frasier co-star as hers. The two actresses have built a solid friendship that can be equated to a family relationship. Leeves serves as the godmother of Gilpin’s daughter.
