While at Syracuse University, Joanna Cassidy intended to develop her talent as an art major but her career path took a different route during her college days when she began modelling which eventually led to her acting career. She worked as a model for several years until 1974 when a call to a renowned casting director, Joyce Selznick, turned her life around. Joanna got a part in the film The Laughing Policeman which became the beginning of her journey to stardom as an actress.
