Popular Canadian actress Jodelle Micah Ferland was born on the 9th of October 1994 in Mansion, British Columbia, Canada to her parents – Marc and Valerie Ferland. She was raised by her parents together with her siblings – Marisha and Jeremy Ferland.
At the age of 4, she made her movie debut in the TV movie Mermaid in which she played the character of heartbroken young Desi. The movie was an instant hit which led to young Joelle being nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award making her the youngest winner ever in the history of the Emmys – a record she still holds to date. She even got more recognition by winning the Young Artiste Award at such a young age.
Following the success from her first movie, she has gone to make several guest appearances in some television series which includes Trapped (2001), Smallville (2001), They (2002), Dark Angel (2000), The Collector (2004), to name but a few.
In 2005, she was even up to much bigger things as she got a chance to appear in the Terry Gilliam drama Tideland. A film centered on the life of a young girl who lost both her parents to an accident and decides to use the power of her imagination as a coping mechanism. The film became an instant hit among movie lovers; a nomination for best actress in the Genie award lays more substance to that claim.
Building on the success she recorded in 2005, she took it to a whole new level the next year. She appeared in the 2006 movie Silent Hill where she played the character of Alessa Gillespie – a powerful psychic born out of wedlock. She also bagged a supporting role in the movie Good Luck Chuck in which she played the character of Lila Carpenter. That same year, she filmed the movie Case 39 but it wasn’t released until 2009 due to a couple of hitches in the post-production.
Jodelle Ferland’s big break, however, came in 2010 when she got castes to play the role of Bree Tanner in the third film of the Twilight Series, Eclipse. It later became known that she accepted the role without even looking at the script. Ever since then, she has gone on to feature in several other screen projects such as Goodbye Girl, My Daughter’s Disgrace, and Dark Matter.
