Before joining the National Basketball Association, Joffrey Lauvergne played with four non-NBA teams namely – Elan Chalon which he joined in 2009 and stayed till 2012, he was with Valentia in 2012 and the same year, he moved over to Partizan where he stayed until 2014 when he joined the Khimki team. Even though his NBA draft was accomplished in 2013, he stayed some time with Partizan and Khimki before making his official debut with the Denver Nuggets of the NBA.

The young basketballer’s career in the big league took off after his NBA draft of 2013 where he was selected as the 55th overall in the second round by the Memphis Grizzlies. His right was then traded to the Denver Nuggets where he signed a two-year contract on the 19th day of February 2015 and made his NBA debut three days later. His first appearance in the NBA ended in a 119-94 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder and he had a record of 8 points with 3 rebounds. He scored a career-high 22 points on the 19th of February 2016 in a match against the Sacramento Kings that ended in 116-110 in favor of the Nuggets

Joffrey Lauvergne went over to the side of the Oklahoma City Thunder in a trade that sent two protected 2017 second round draft picks over to the team of the Denver Nuggets. The NBA center and power forward recorded a season-high of 16 points on February 3, 2017, in a 114-102 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies.

The next trade for Joffrey Lauvergne, accomplished on the 23rd of February 2017, took him over to the Chicago Bulls of the National Basketball Association. He was traded alongside professional NBA players like Anthony Morrow and to the Bulls and in exchange, the Oklahoma City Thunder received the likes of Doug McDermott, and one second-round draft pick of the 2010 NBA draft.
