Johnny Simmons was born on the 28th of November, 1986 in Montgomery, Alabama. Although he was born in the southern state, he was raised in the Lone Star State, Texas, specifically Dallas by his parents, Ben Simmons and Cindy Simmons. There isn’t much information regarding his childhood. We, however, know he’s of Irish and Scottish descent suggesting his parents are Irish and Scottish.

For his foundational formal education, Johnny Simmons attended Nathan Adams Elementary School, T.C Marsh Middle School, and W.T White High School, before proceeding to study Chemistry at an unknown community college in California. There’s no surety concerning how Johnny ended up in the acting industry, but we suspect it was a result of his experience while he attended college in California.

After a few auditions and a series of appearances in short films, with the first being My Ambition in 2006, Johnny Simmons secured his first feature film role in the comedy, Evan Almighty. In the film, which was a spin-off of the film, Bruce Almighty, Simmons played Dylan Baxter, the oldest son of Evan Baxter and Joan Baxter.

Since his debut in the 2007 film, he has starred in a wide range of films from a children’s comedy film called Hotel for Dogs in 2009 to a black comedy horror film, Jennifer’s Body. His young face and small physique have gotten him cast in several young adult films like The Perks of Being a Wallflower and Scott Pilgrim vs the World.

While he has mostly been cast in comedy films, due to his comedic talents and timing, which has helped him appear in films like 21 Jump Street, alongside and and in Frank and Cindy alongside Rene Russo and Oliver Platt.
