Kevin Knox is a young American basketball player who plays in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for the New York Knicks. The small forward player made the NBA draft of 2018 after having had a very impressive high school and college career. Even though he is not one of the most popular players you will find at the moment, the belief is that Kevin Knox has a great NBA career ahead of him.

Kevin Knox Bio

It was on August 11, 1999, that the New York Knicks player was born as Kevin Knox II in Phoenix, Arizona. Without so much information on how he was raised, it is known that he had his high school education in Florida from Tampa Catholic High School and from there he moved to the University of Kentucky.

With a father who played football and even went on to win the 1993 national title in his senior season at Florida State, Kevin Knox had football in his blood and that was the first sport that he played while growing up.

In fact, he wanted to have a career in football but with a height of 6 to 7 feet after his sophomore year, he was not exactly what football needed and so he decided to focus on basketball. Something that he would also come to excel in. That doesn’t mean that football is no more in his system as he still plays with his father.

Career Stats

For his high school career, Kevin led the Crusaders to the 2016 Florida Class 4A semifinals and the regional and district championships. He recorded an average of 30.1 points per game, 2.4 assists, and 11.2 rebounds per game. After a successful run, he moved on to play for the young Wildcats. He was given a deal to play in the Chinese Basketball Association but he turned it down.

In April 2018, he entered the NBA draft being selected by the New York Knicks in the first round as the 9th overall pick.

Regarding his stats, Kevin Knox is yet to have any stats with the Knickers but for Kentucky, he played 37 games starting in all having a 3-point field-goal percentage of .341, 5.4 rebound per game, 1.4 assist per game, .8 steals per game, and 15.6 points per game.

Though yet to make his mark in the NBA, Kevin has a rather fine resume decorated by two gold medals he won with the United State men’s basketball team at the FIBA Americas U16 Championship and the FIBA U17 World Championship. In addition to that, he was SEC Freshman of the Year while also making the First-team All-SEC in 2018. In 2017, Knox was Florida Mr. Basketball and he made the Jordan Brand Classic as well as the McDonald’s All-American.

After he was selected by the Knicks in 2018, he got a deal which would see him lacing the Puma Clyde Court. The sneaker was launched 45 years ago. Knox was selected alongside people like DeAndre Ayton and Marvin Bagley III who are the first and second pick of the 2018 NBA Draft as well as veteran forward Rudy Gay and as Puma made its return to the sport after staying away for the past 2018. In his Kentucky days, Kevin played in Nike gears but with the deal which is for more than a year, he would be playing on the Puma gear.

Parents and Girlfriend

Kevin Knox parents are Michelle Knox and Kevin Knox Sr. He was brought up alongside his siblings, Kobe, Karter, and Ashley. While his father played in the NFL, he was later the youth and sports manager for the Tampa Housing Authority. His mother, on the other hand, works with Hillsborough County Public Schools as a social worker.

For a man who is said not to even have a best friend, Kevin equally does not have a girlfriend.

Height and Weight

A son of a former NFL player who had a height of 6 feet 3 inches and now playing in the NBA, there is no point in pointing out that he has it as far as height and body build is concerned. In Numbers, Kevin Knox has a height of 6 feet 9 inches (2.06 m) and a body weight of 212 lb (96 kg).

Standing almost 7 feet, it is obvious that apart from his skills, his body build has significantly contributed to the good basketball player that he is. There is, however, no information about the general body measurements of the small forward.
