Kriesha Ziskind Teo Tiu who is more popularly known by her stage name Kriesha Chu is a K-pop star with a singing talent many people have come to admire. At the age of 2, her family migrated to faraway San Francisco in Northern California, in the United States from the Philippines but little did they know that their daughter had a date with destiny. The Filipino singer who is now based in South Korea was born on the 20th of December 1998 in Makati City, Philippines. Her birth name is Kriesha Ziskind Teo Tiu but a lot of people now know her by her stage name – Kriesha Chu.
In her family, you have her father who is half Chinese and half Filipino, while her mother is a Filipina. She is not an only child as she has a younger brother and sister. Their family relocated to San Francisco at around the time when Kreisha was just 2 years old. But while in faraway San Fran, Urban Works Entertainment scouted her and that prompted her family to relocate to South Korea.
She became a trainee under the talent management company and trained with them for 1 full year. In 2016 at the end of the training, Kriesha Chu competed in the 6th and final season of K-pop Star – a South Korean reality television competition – titled “K-pop Star 6: The Last Chance.” Kriesha lost out in the 7th episode but was brought back as a wild card contestant who teamed up with Kim So-hee and Kim Hye-rim in a group known as Kwins.
While the show lasted, Kreisha Tiu distinguished herself among other contestants. Though she didn’t win, the show provided a platform for her to launch her music career. On May 24, 2017, she released her first single album titled Kriesha Chu 1st Single Album which contained the song Trouble. The following year, Kreisha delighted K-pop fans with a mini-album she titled Dream of Paradise with more expected to come from her.
