The actress was born on the 23rd of February in 1965 as the only child of her parents who got divorced when she was a baby. Her mother, Dorothy, who worked as a University data analyst remarried and Kristin was adopted by her step-father; Keith Davis who was a professor at the University of Colorado, taking his last name in the process. She has three step-sisters from her step-father’s first marriage.

Davis attended A.C. Flora High School and graduated in 1983 before moving on to attain an acting degree from Rutgers University’s Mason Gross School of the Arts in New Jersey, graduating in 1987.

As a child of nine, Kristin nursed dreams of becoming an actress, after she was cast in a production of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. This dream became a reality when after graduating from Rutgers, she moved to New York City. She bagged a role on the soap opera General Hospital, appearing in some episodes, but she did not land any major roles until 1995 when she was got the role of Brooke Campbell on the show Melrose Place.

She was on the show for only a year, which was long enough time for her to make her mark in acting. Three years after her exit from the show, Kristin Davis was cast in the major role of Charlotte York in the highly acclaimed and widely popular show Sex and the City. The show ran for six years and she received an Emmy nomination and other awards for her performance on the show.

Davis has since had appearances in other television shows and movies. Friend, Seinfeld, Will, and Grace; these are some of the shows she had appearances in and with roles in the movies, Atomic Train (1999), Travelling Companion (1998), Couples Retreat (2009) among others. This versatile actress has also had performed on Broadway with a debut in 2012, going on to perform in numerous Broadway productions most notably in Fatal Attraction (2014) as Beth Gallagher.

Acting is not the only work Kristin Davis engages in, she works with the charitable organization Oxfam as a Global Ambassador, is a celebrity spokesperson for a cosmetics company; Maybelline and has worked with the United Nation High Commissioner For Refugees (UNHCR). Her work with Oxfam and UNHCR has required she travel to 3rd world countries and offer relief to some of their citizens. For her altruism and attempt to help some orphaned elephants she received the 2010 Wyler Award from the Humane Society.
