The daughter of John David Bertram, Laura was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, on the 5th day of September 1978. She is of Canadian nationality and belongs to the White race. There is little or no information about the actress’s family background. However, we learned that her father died in September 2012 and that she has two siblings.

The actress, who currently lives in Vancouver, British Columbia, graduated from the University of Guelph with a degree in History. Being someone who has a background in teaching, she has excelled in this field as well. Bertram is a high school teacher and an instructor at Biz Studio, Vancouver, where she coaches young actors. Sometime in 1997, the actress attended the Kilcoo Camp (a summer camp for boys between the ages of 8 and 16), where she served as a ceramics instructor.

Laura may have starred in several films and TV series but her role in Andromeda is considered her biggest project to date. Some of her credits in television include Arctic Air (2014; Megan), A Wish for Christmas (2016; as Nicole), Signed, Sealed, Delivered: Home Again (2017; as Peggy), A Winter’s Dream (2018; Lindsay), Ready or Not (1993-1997; Amanda Zimm), Are You Afraid of the Dark? (1995; Laurel), while Laura Bertram’s credits in movies including but not limited to Punkin (2010; as Laura Lippy), Traveling at the Speed of Life (2011; as Josee), 50/50 (2011; as Claire), and Random Acts of Romance (2012; as Holly). Stuffed to the brim, the actress has also performed in the Canadian Children’s Opera Chorus.

For her involvement in the show business, Laura Bertram has bagged three nominations and two awards so far. She earned her first award in the year 1995 at Gemini Award for “Best Performance in a Children’s or Youth Program or Series” for taking part in the production of the series, Ready or Not. Laura’s immediate family members include her two sisters, deceased father, and mother, Denise Bertram. Not much is really known about her mother even though she helped her husband in raising their three kids.

The actress’s dad, John David Bertram, was a native of Toronto, where he was born on October 23, 1949. He studied garden design at George Brown College and later at the University of Toronto, from where he obtained a master’s degree in education. He worked as a gardener, teacher, as well as a coordinator and instructor at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education. In his adult age, he featured as an extra in over thirty-five operas with the Canadian Opera Company. David died of Leukemia, on September 9, 2012, in Port Dalhousie, Ontario, at the age of 62, leaving behind his three daughters.

 

Laura’s immediate younger sister is called Heather Bertram. She was born in 1981, in Toronto and best known for starring in the 1999 television series, In The Company of Spices. Jennifer Bertram is the name of her youngest sister. Like Heather, she is a former actress who gained popularity during her active years for playing a role in the production of the 1998 film, The Ghost of Dickens’ Past. She was born in 1984. Ever since the Bertram sisters retired from acting, there hasn’t been much information about what they’ve been up to.
