American-born actress, singer and voice artist, Leslie Easterbrook has numerous television and film credits to her name, particularly in the comedy genre. She came into the limelight in 1980 when she portrayed a guest character Rhonda on the hit sitcom Laverne & Shirley. This notable guest role officially launched her acting career as she has gone on to star in a countless number of television shows ever since. Leslie Eileen Easterbrook was born in Los Angeles, California on the 29th of July 1949. She was adopted before her first birthday and was raised in rural Arcadia, Nebraska by her adoptive parents. She attended Kearney High School and following her graduation in 1967, she attended Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri.
It is unclear when Easterbrook actually commenced her acting career, however, she is known to have recorded her first major success on season 6 of the hit sitcom Laverne & Shirley (1980) in which she portrayed the character, Rhonda Lee. Following this breakout role, the multitalented star sang the national anthem at Super Bowl XVII (1983) and this opened a whole new chapter in her blossoming career as she got featured in several Broadway musicals.
Also in the early 1980s, Easterbrook got her career-defining role as Sgt. Debbie Callahan in the comedy film Police Academy (1984).
