Married, Family, Husband, and Kids

Liza Powel O’Brien is officially married and has been so for more than a decade. Her husband is a popular TV host, writer, producer, and a comedian who is best known for hosting several late-night shows since 2010.

O’Brien started his career as a writer in HBO’s Not Necessarily the News. He was writing for Saturday Night Live and The Simpsons before he began hosting his own show, Late Night with Conan O’Brien which he has been on for 16 years, gracing his audience with his hilarious anecdotes.

The couple dated for 18 months after they first met and got married on January 12, 2002, in a marriage ceremony that took place that afternoon at St. James Cathedral, Seattle, Washington. It was followed by a reception held at Union Station in the city.

Their relationship was described as love at first sight and even Liza’s father confirmed it, saying “you could see the connection forming right in front of your eyes.” Speaking in an interview about their first encounter, her husband said there’s a footage of him “literally falling for” his wife on camera.

Their love story sparked while they were making a commercial makeover for the “worst advertisers” on one of NBC’s affiliates in Texas. Liza’s company was hired to produce the show and she was featured side by side with O’Brien.

To make their union stronger, they have two kids together: daughter, Neve O’Brien who was born in 2003 and son, Beckett O’Brien in 2005.

It is not to say that Liza Powel and her husband haven’t experienced gloomy days. She has been crowned the epitome of support for her husband when he suddenly lost his dream job as the host of The Tonight Show. The show was the definition of cultural relevancy for decades, O’Brien said in his interview. While he endured miserable times, Liza was there to pull him out of the depressive moods by having him run the house, cooking dinner, making school runs and making him volunteer at all sorts of sports at their son’s school.

Nevertheless, their gloomy days didn’t last forever as things have consistently gone well for the couple in their careers and family lives. Liza Powel and her husband have a combined net worth of $85 million. Aside from her decent earnings from her work as a copywriter, her husband’s work and investments over the years have brought in more than enough for the family to retire from working if they choose to.

It was announced on January 21, 2010, that O’Brien had agreed on a deal with NBC to see him exit the show the following day. They reportedly granted him a whopping sum of $45 million, out of which $12 million was designated for distribution to his staff who moved with him from New York to Los Angeles after he left Late Night.

The millionaire celebrity family have several residences in different states including Los Angeles and Washington. They also have an octagonal country retreat in Connecticut and a summer home in Norfolk, Massachusetts. For all we know, there haven’t been any divorce rumors and the O’Briens are living the happy-ever-after life.
