Although she was born into a family of actors, Liza Weil harbored dreams of becoming an archeologist as a young child because of her love for the Indiana Jones films and her crush on Hollywood icon, who plays the eponymous character in the films, but they were just meant to be dreams.
As a child who was born into an acting family on the 5th of June, 1977 in Passaic, New Jersey, following the path laid down by parents’ nurture was the natural career path for Liza Weil. As a baby, she often traveled around Europe along with her parents Lisa and Marc Weil while they toured with their comedy troupe, The Madhouse Comedy of London. After years of traveling around America and Europe, the family settled at Lansdale, Pennsylvania when she was seven. But as a child who had grown up around performers and actors, she fell in love with the life and though her parents had settled, she worked in pursuit of a life as an actress.
According to Liza herself, her pursuit and nurture of her budding acting career impacted her academic life as a high school student, causing her to be an average student while she was in school. This is due to the fact that she was notorious for frequently traveling to New York for auditions in theatre. She finally graduated from high school in 1995, two years after she started her professional career.
Her first set of professional acting roles were in theatre; a medium she still regularly engages in till date. She had her first onscreen performance in 1994 in a television show titled The Adventures of Pete & Pete as Margie Corsell. Since her onscreen debut, Liza Weil has starred in shows like ER, The West Wing, and Law & Order: SVU. Some of her more notable television shows include Gilmore Girls where she played Parris Geller and starred in 96 episodes of the show. She reprised the role in the Netflix reunion season of the show in 2016, starring in 3 episodes. She also stars in How to Get Away with Murder as Bonnie Winterbottom a main role on the show. She has starred in thirteen films including Mars, Neal Cassady, and Smiley.
