Maia Charlotte Mitchell was born on the 18th of August, 1993 in Lismore, New South Wales, Australia. Her father, Alex Mitchell, is a cab driver while her mom, Jill Mitchell, whom she regards as her biggest musical inspiration, is an educationist. Maia has only one sibling, her younger brother named Charlie Mitchell. She was raised along with her brother in South Wales where the family resides. The actress schooled at Trinity Catholic College, Lismore.

As a young girl, Maia Mitchell took dance lessons and was known in school for her active participation in stage productions. The enthusiastic lass would later move on to local theatre productions. Her big break came in 2006 at age 12 when she got scouted by talent agencies. Consequently, she landed a role in a children series – Mortified, where she got to play Brittany Flune. But then, the series only ran for some months (June 30, 2006 – April 11, 2007).

Her performance in Mortified earned her a role as Natasha Hamilton in another Australian TV series, Trapped which aired sometime between 2008 – 2009. In 2011, the youngster also acted as the same character in Castaway, the sequel series to Trapped. Before that (in 2009), Maia appeared in an episode of the TV series K-9 which was focused on K-9, the robot dog. K-9 was a spin-off of Doctor Who, a popular British TV series at the time.

Like most Australian actors, this jane soon gained entrance into Hollywood for her wonderful performances. Maia Mitchell acted as Shaylee Michaels in 2 episodes of Jessie, a Disney Channel TV series. Her first film also came in the U.S; she played the role of McKenzie in an original Disney Channel movie titled Teen Beach Movie in 2013. Also, the actress played the reprisal role in the sequel, Teen Beach 2, in 2015.

From 2013 to date, lady Maia has been playing a major role as Callie Adams Foster in the ABC Family drama series, The Fosters. This series is scheduled to end after the currently airing season five. There are talks, however, of a spin-off which she is said to be a part of. So fingers crossed!

The Australian actress also acted as Beatrice in the movie After the Dark (2013), as Amy Calhoun in Hot Summer Nights (2017) and starred as Angela in Never Going Back which was released in 2018.

That’s not all, Maia has also done some voice roles over the years. In 2013, she did a voice role as herself in an episode of Phineas and Ferb. In an episode of Jake and the Never Land Pirates, she spoke as Wendy Darling. And, from 2016 to date, the Aussie has been the voice of Jasiri in the children animation, The Lion Guard.

Being an entertainer, Maia plays the guitar remarkably (from childhood) and is credited with writing her own songs. She, however, insists that songwriting and singing is a private thing for her. The actress has said that music is something she would thrive in if she were to take it up officially. While Maia takes credits for the soundtrack albums on Teen Beach Movie and Teen Beach 2, she has also featured on some singles with Ross Lynch.

In 2012, Maia dated Ramy Youssef, an American Actor but the relationship ended in 2014. In 2015, she began dating Rudy Manusco, an American Musician. Their relationship appears to be no secret as they have been seen with each other countless times. They also make Youtube videos together.

On December 11, 2017, they released their first official single, Sirens. In March this year (2018), Rudy released another song in collaboration with Maia. This time, a soft pop music named Magic. Rudy described Maia as the perfect partner for his song and expressed that she has a daring spirit which played out in the song and video. We certainly look forward to more from this power couple.
