Early Life

Jeremy Buendia was born on the 10th of October 1990 in Roseville, California. When he was still a child, he was motivated by his father, Batista, who was a non-professional bodybuilder. This eventually inspired him to venture into bodybuilding early in life. Jeremy is half-Filipino (from his paternal side) as his grandfather was from Bulacan, a province in the Philippines. His mother is Greek.

When Jeremy Buendia was in high school, he developed an interest in football. During his years in school, he was known for his proficiency as his team’s line-back. Jeremy was able to clinch the all-league honor, despite the fact that he developed an injury. Unfortunately, he later gave up on football as a result of several injuries and college obligations.

Jeremy Buendia’s Body Building Career

Buendia is a professional bodybuilder and weightlifter. He ventured into the career because of his passion as well as the vast experience he had with weightlifting. After graduating from high school, he made up his mind to take part in competitions related to his choice of career. Being someone with atychiphobia, Jeremy worked hard for his first competition and his efforts boosted his morale to go professional. Buendia came sixth at the 2008 World Natural Bodybuilding Federation Championships which did not go down well with him, so, he encouraged himself to take a break from the spotlight in order to train harder, learn from his past experiences, and come back with a better physique.

After a couple of years of rigorous workout sessions, Jeremy returned with a mesmerizing physique to the show, impressing everyone. At age 17, he won the competition and at the 2010 Contra Costa Championships. Giving credit to his swift success, Buendia knew that bodybuilding was his ardor. He concluded the year by clinching the number 3 position at the 2010 NPC California State Building Championships and he also prepared for more prestigious competitions ahead.

Jeremy Buendia went on a break for a year before he started seeing results. At first, he was fortunate to be the runner-up at the 2012 NPC California Governor’s Cup Championships. That same year, he won the NPC Excalibur and after that, he began making preparations for one of the most highly competitive challenges he was to encounter at the 2013 NPC Amateur Grand Prix in Los Angeles. He won that show and further clinched the number 1 position at the NPC Excalibur Championships. After Buendia won some of the toughest shows he partook in, he went on to get his pro card.

2013 Onwards

Jeremy started getting ready for one of the most significant competitions in his career. It was the 2013 NPC Junior Championships, and in no time, he displayed his full potentials. After he had spent so much time dieting and engaging in rigorous exercises, Buendia showcased his well-built physique and won the show. Jeremy Buendia successfully got his pro card after being part of the competition. Going further in his career, he successfully scaled through the IFBB Professional League competition. Three years after taking part in the IFBB competition, he won the Sacramento Pro and the Greater Gulf States Pro before he went ahead to mount the stage at the 2013 Men’s Physique Mr.Olympia; where he clinched the number 2 position.

Consequently, Jeremy Buendia was thrown into a melancholic state because he came 2nd and he promised himself it won’t repeat itself again. As a result of his hard work and determination, he came first both in the 2014 Mr. Olympia and the IFBB San Jose Pro. Jeremy won Mr.Olympia two times back-to-back; beating other competitors who partook in the 2015 and 2016 versions of the show.

Jeremy is not one who would want to be found wanting in any form of physical exercise that will help build his physique but he sure has his favorites. According to the American professional bodybuilder, exercises like bench press, DB lateral elevations, and alternate foot DB bicep curls are among his best so far. While the bench press helps him work on the thickness of his upper body, the DB lateral elevations offer him incredible pumps, and the Alternate foot DB Bicep curls help him gain control of his entire range of motion.
