If you are well-acquainted with the CBS police procedural series, NCIS, then you’d know Michael Weatherly, who portrayed the role of Anthony DiNozzo in the series. Aside from being one of the main characters of the show, Michael is also famous for playing the lead role in TV shows such as Dark Angel and Bull. On Bull, he plays the titular character of Dr. Jason Bull, a ‘trial science’ expert and psychologist, who uses his skills (as well as his team’s) to choose the right jurors for his clients, their lawyers, and their cases. He is an American actor, director, and producer. Born Michael Manning Weatherly Jr. on the 8th of July 1968, he is a native of New York City, New York, United States. After his birth, his family moved to Fairfield, Connecticut, where he lived with his parents – Michael Manning Weatherly Sr. and Patricia O’Hara. He holds an American nationality, while his ethnicity is Irish.

For his education, Weatherly attended Fairfield Country Day School, a private, single-sex day school in Connecticut, as well as Brooks School in Massachusetts. Afterward, he briefly attended Boston University, American University, and Menlo College. However, he decided to ditch his college education to pursue a career in acting. In addition to acting, Michael is also very proficient in other forms of entertainment and plays multiple musical instruments, including the guitar and piano.

Michael Weatherly began his career when he was cast in a small role on The Cosby Show, as the roommate of one of the lead characters, Theo Huxtable. Thereafter, he also appeared in The City and Loving, playing the role of Cooper Alden in both of them from 1992 to 1996. Following his decision to go into acting full-time, Weatherly moved to Los Angeles and soon landed a lead role on the television series, Significant Others, opposite Jennifer Garner. The show lasted for six episodes before being canceled. He then starred as a conflicted warlock in the first season of the hit supernatural TV series, Charmed.

Moving forward, he also scored roles movies such as The Last Days Of Disco, Meet Wally Sparks, Gun Shy, Cabin By The Lake, The Mystery Of Natalie Wood and Trigger Happy. From 2000 to 2002, Weatherly played a starring role in Dark Angel, the cyberpunk television series that aired for two seasons on Fox. For his outstanding performance on the series, he was nominated for several awards, including two Saturn Awards and a teen choice award.

Later on, Michael Weatherly appeared in two episodes of JAG as Senior NCIS Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo. He reprised his role in JAG’s spin-off series, NCIS. Thereafter, he appeared as a guest star in NCIS spin-offs, NCIS: Los Angeles and NCIS: New Orleans. He is one of two actors who has appeared on all four shows, with the other being Pauley Perrette, who plays Abby Sciuto on the show.

Michael Weatherly has been married twice. He first got married to Amelia Heinle with whom he appeared in The City and Loving in 1999. Unfortunately, their union didn’t last as they went their separate ways in 1997. While starring in Dark Angel, he began a relationship with Jessica Alba, his co-star and by 2001, they were engaged. However, their relationship ended in 2003.

He later married Dr. Bojana Jankovic on the 30th of September 2009, and their union has produced two children, a son, and a daughter. The actor currently lives in Manhattan with his family.
