Meg Foster is an American actress who made her first screen appearance in the TV series NET Playhouse in 1969. Over the years she has been seen in several sitcoms, movies as well as off-Broadway productions. She is also renowned for her role in the sitcom Scarlet Letters and her appearance in the Cagney & Lacey series in 1982. Meg Foster’s Bio (Age)

The American actress whose full name is Magaret Foster was born on the 10th of May 1948 in the city of Reading in Pennsylvania, the United States. Her parents, Nancy and David Foster, also had four other children, her sisters – Nina, Gray, and Jan, as well as her brother, Ian. Her family later moved to Rowayton in Connecticut State where she was raised alongside her siblings.

Although there is no information on her early education nor is there any detail about her college qualification, we have it that Meg Foster groomed her acting skills at a drama school in New York called Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre. Later on, in 1968, she was seen in the play John Brown’s Body at the Cornell Summer Theater. Within the same period, Meg got a role in the theatrical production, The Empire Builders which was followed by her appearance in the play, Three Sisters.

The actress made her debut on-screen appearance in the 1969 sitcom NET Playhouse as Praxthia in the episode The Prodigal. The next year she was featured in Here Come the Brides, The Interns, and Mod Squad as well as landing the role of Joyce in the American drama, Adam at 6 A.M. She was also seen as a guest actress in several TV shows throughout the 70s such as The F.B.I, Circle of Fear, Barnaby Jones, The Six Million Dollar Man, Hawaii Five-O, and many others.

Subsequently, Meg Foster attained stardom when she featured in the 1979 series The Scarlet Letter and in 1982 her role as Christine Cagney in the sitcom Cagney & Lacey further enhanced her fame. The actress was also featured alongside actors like  Rutger Hauer, Burt Lancaster, John Hurt, and Dennis Hopper in the film The Osterman Weekend. Towards the late 80s, she was seen as Holly Thompson in the movie They Live which also starred the famous Canadian wrestler Roddy Piper. Meg then earned a nomination from Genie Awards under the category of ‘Best Performance by a Foreign Actress’ for her role as Ingrid in the Canadian drama Ticket to Heaven.

The talented actress continued to make film appearances throughout the 90s and she is notable for her works in The Young Riders, Quantum Leap, To Catch A Killer, ER, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, and many more. Towards the end of the 90s, Meg Foster rekindle her passion for stage acting and she became a very active stage actress making notable appearances in plays like King Lear and Barabbas.

In the 2000s, she appeared in Xena: Warrior Princess, Being with Eddie and Coming Up Easy, among others. Meg Foster then depicted the character Ms. Grunwald in the TV shows – Pretty Little Liars and Ravenwood. She landed a role in The Originals as Josephine LaRue in 2015 and was in the films – A Reckoning as Diane Maple, Any Bullet Will Do as Ma Whitman and Overlord which were all released in 2018.
