On March 14, 1968, Megan Elizabeth Laura Diana Follows, commonly known as Megan Follows was born in the city of Toronto in Ontario, however, her family relocated to the United States which was where she was eventually raised. Her father’s name is Ted Follows while her mother is Dawn Greenhalgh and Morgan is said to be the fourth and youngest child of her parents. Morgan Follows is of Canadian decent but acquired American citizenship, making her a holder of dual citizenship. The talented actress was brought up as a Christian and she went to school at the Grams Chapel High in Toronto where she was born. After the separation of her parents, at age 11, Megan relocated to Los Angeles where she went on to attend a public college.

Early in her life, surrounded by an environment full of entertainment, Megan developed an interest in acting and dancing and soon, the talent was obvious. The first acting role she played was in 1975 at age 9 when she did a commercial for Bell Canada. After graduation, Megan passed her time with theatre and plays and eventually, she was featured in shows like Matt and Jenny. However, she started to gain recognition after acting in the show, The Facts of Life in 1979 and she became even more popular internationally after the famous film Anne of Green Gables in 1985 which earned her a Gemini award in 1986 for best actress.

She appeared in the drama Under the Piano which she is said to have prepared for within three weeks after which she took a break to further study theatre.
