Some kids are born really talented and that’s exactly the impression Hollywood had on Melissa – widely known for her role in Clarissa Explains It All and Sabrina the Teenage Witch – after she excellently advertised a bathtub called Splash at a tender age of four. That single stint paved the way for her to countless commercials. Also, her contagious smile on ads allured the interest of world-class movie writers, producers, and directors.
Before she turned ten, she had appeared in a TV series titled Kane and Abel, guest starred in an episode of Equalizer and starred in the award-winning movie Christmas Snow. Melissa grew into a multi-talented star, an actress, director, singer, fashion designer, and a businesswoman.
Bio, Age
Melissa was born in one of the world’s finest cities, Smithtown, New York to industrious parents; William Hart, an entrepreneur and Paula, a producer and talent manager.
After her parents’ marriage broke down in 1990, her mother found love again in the arms of a TV executive, Leslie Gillian. They wedded in 1994 and lived in New York. Consequently, Paula took Melissa and her siblings; Trisha, Elizabeth, Brian, and Emily to stay in her new home. Her mother took her to ad auditions and fortunately, she was able to win a handful. Hart didn’t get to obtain traditional education like most people. Her mother first enrolled her to a public school where she joined Girls Scouts and played the flute. But she had to work with tutors on set to complete her education.
Career
Following a series of commercials that widened her popularity, Melissa became one of the most sought-after young stars in the 80’s and she embraced the rush without a shudder. She learned very early how to balance different job responsibilities engaging in both ads and TV shows. Her extraordinary technique of acting booked her a role in the Nickelodeon television show Clarissa Explain It All. The show earned her four Young Artist Award nominations and she procured three before the end of the show in 1994.
Melissa abandoned her education at the University of New York to continue in the school’s study-abroad program so she could take up another role in a TV series; Sabrina the Teenage Witch barely two years after Clarissa ended. As you would expect, the move was worth it as the series made an outstanding success with over 160 episodes that approximate to seven seasons and rapidly shot up her career in the early 1990s.
Around this time, Hart had to fully adjust to starring as a grown up in films and her career continued to stream without a lull with various movie credits in Family Reunion: A Relative nightmare (1995), Twisted Desire (1996), The Right Connections (1997), Silencing Mary (1998), Sabrina Goes to Rome (1998), Holiday in Handcuffs, and host of others. She also directed and produced her first film titled Mute, a short film that featured her sister, Emil.
In the 2000s, rather than allow everything about her to revolve around films, Hart began to balance up her acting career, family life, and other business ventures. She opened her own candy shop in Sherman Oaks, California but sadly this dream was killed a year later following lawsuit by an employee whose job was unreasonably terminated.
Melissa made a bold leap into the fashion industry introducing her fashion line King of Harts. She owns this business with her husband. While her fashion business is blossoming, it hasn’t stopped the beautiful actress from nabbing good business deals, endorsements, ad campaigns and TV appearances.
Net Worth
Hart’s active involvement in movies, directing and theatrical has been worthwhile. She has earned some six figures and hopes to bring home some more. She’s presently worth $14 million thanks to her unwavering zeal in pursuing her goals.
Melissa Joan Hart Husband, Kids, Family
Melissa obviously has a happy home. She has been married to famous musician Mark Wilkerson. The couple fell in love in Kentucky Derby while Mark was performing with his band, Course of Nature. At that time, Melissa was dating Jerry O’Connell but chose Mark after she had definite trust issue for Jerry having discovered he was flirting. Though the actress once mused about her fling with Ryan Reynold back in 1990 and her slight regret for denying him a chance but her love for Mark appears to be incomparable.
Mark engaged her barely seven months of whirlwind romance and in 2003 the couple tied the knot. Their nuptial was filmed by ABC Family as requested by Melissa. The couple has three sons; Mason, Braydon, and Tucker. Melissa and her husband shared in an interview the possibility of expanding their family with more children.
What is Melissa Joan Hart’s Height?
Actress Melissa Joan Hart may look or appear taller on screen than she really is, but the actress is only 5 feet 2 inches. She isn’t the slenderest person we know and her questioning right eye hardly open as wide as her left but that doesn’t demean her perfectly shaped body, her angelic smile, her adorable sense of humor and her cute style of dressing.
