Michele Joan Vandersall Tafoya, which is her complete name, was born on December 17, 1964, in Manhattan Beach, California. While growing up, Michele who was very close to her dad was always glued to the TV watching one sports program or the other because her father who was an engineer was a sports lover. This would go on to influence her life as she came to love sports first by participating as a basketball player as a teenager, and then going on to become a sports reporter after she was done with her education.

It was in Minnesota that the NBC sportswoman was raised by her parents alongside siblings. Since the age of 3, Tafoya began putting on shows at home for her siblings. She had wanted to become an actress but for the love of sports. The NBC sportswoman got her education from the University of California where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication. From here, she went to the University of Southern California where she obtained a master’s degree in business administration.

Looking at her career, she has been in the business of reporting for almost forever. She began with KFAN-AM in Minneapolis as a sideline reporter from 1994 to 1998. From here, she went to CBS before going to ESPN in 2004. The Manhattan Beach native would go on to leave the Network for NBC. In 2009, she also worked for the radio station WCCO (AM).

With a CV that is easy to envy, Michele Tofoya has, through her years in the sporting world, been a part as either a host or a sideline reporter of a lot of things including the Super Bowl, NBA, and the Olympics.
