Some people are simply good at whatever they put their hands on and Mike Golic, the American-born ex-footballer is no exception. He’s a veteran of the National Football League who explored his innate prowess playing defensive tackle for three NFL teams.

Starting out with the Houston Oilers after he was drafted in 1985, Mike moved on to the Miami Dolphins (his second NFL team) and then to Philadelphia Eagles which was his third and last team before retirement from active football.

His retirement marked the beginning of his illustrious career as a radio and television host. He made his debut in television via a weekly segment featured on the Randall Cunningham show which was based in Philadephia. Mike would later bag a Mid-Atlantic Region Emmy Award for his program titled Golic Got it. In collaboration with Mike Greenberg, he co-hosted Mike and Mike in the Morning on ESPN Radio for 17 successful years. Mike served as an ESPN sports analyst and also covered college football for the network. He presented a gag show called The Lighter Side of Sports and worked as a color commentator for Arena Football League.

Mike’s multi-talent also extends to the wrestling sports, he was actively involved in professional wrestling and in 2015, got inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in the category of outstanding American. To cap it all, Mike Golic is also a writer, along with Mike Greenberg, he co-authored a book titled Mike and Mike’s Rules for Sports.

As a professional NFL player, Bob bagged several All-Pro Nose Tackle honors from the NFL and presently, he is on WNIR-FM in Akron, Ohio as a talk radio host. Bob also comes in as the co-host of the Cleveland Browns television pre-game and post-game shows.

At one time, Mike Golic made an appearance with his dad along with his two brothers Greg and Bob on his program Mike and Mike in the Morning which was broadcast from Progressive Field in Cleveland on 28th May in 2009. Again, on 7th May 2010, 9th May 2012, and 31st May 2017, the Golic brothers showed up on the program Mike and Mike but this time without their dad.

Talking about his love life, Mike is in a marriage relationship with his spouse of over three decades Christine Golic. The couple got married in 1987 and their union is blessed with three children namely; Mike Jr, Sydney, and Jake. The three Golic kids attended the same Notre Dame University that their dad attended and both Mike Jr and his younger brother Jake played college football for the Notre Dame football team. They both went professional and joined the NFL after college. Their sister Sydney pursued a career in swimming.

The Golic family currently lives in Avon, Connecticut. Mike and his wife Christine appear to be living happily together even though it once circulated that he was having a gay affair. The man has proved himself a caring and responsible husband. When his father-in-law passed, he left his show for a while to commiserate with his wife’s family.
