Mukesh Ambani Bio
Mukesh Ambani was born in Aden, Yemen, on April 19, 1957, to Dhirubhai Ambani and his wife, Kokilaben Ambani.
Dipti Salgaoncar and Nina Kothari are his sisters, and Anil Ambani is his younger brother.
Moreover, Dhirubhai Ambani worked in a company in Yemen before moving to Mumbai in 1958 and starting his own spices trade.
Later, he started to focus on the textile industry, and he rose to become one of India’s most recognized businessmen.
Educational Background
Mukesh attended ‘Hill Grange High School’ in Mumbai. After that, he joined Matunga’s ‘Institute Of Chemical Technology,’ where he earned his BE in chemical engineering.
He then went to ‘Stanford University’ in the United States and obtained a master’s degree in business administration (MBA). However, he later dropped out to help his father build ‘Reliance Industries.’
Career
When Dhirubhai was left to establish his business alone in India, he needed the help of his son. As a result, he invited Mukesh to return from Stanford to manage the yam production project.
In 1981, he began assisting his father Dhirubhai Ambani in managing their family firm, Reliance Industries Limited, which had already grown to include petrochemicals and refining.
He helped create the firm from the ground up after joining it, keeping to the idea that everyone should contribute to it and it shouldn’t rely too much on a small group of people.
Dhirubhai treated his kid like a business partner and gave him decision-making authority. After the passing of the then-executive director Rasikbhai and Dhirubhai’s stroke in 1986, this idea was put into practice.
Mukesh’s father passed away on July 6, 2002, after a second stroke. The fact that Dhirubhai had not left a will for the division of the empire in 2004, this increased tension among the brothers.
Mukesh and Anil Ambani’s mother helped to break up the conflict and divide the business in half.
In Jamnagar, India, Ambani oversaw the construction of the biggest community-based petroleum refinery in the world.
At the Progressive Punjab Summit in Mohali in December 2013, Ambani mentioned the potential for a “collaborative venture” with Bharti Airtel to build up the digital infrastructure for the 4G network in India.
After that, on June 18, 2014, Mukesh Ambani said at the 40th Annual General Meeting of Reliance Industries that he will make short-term investments of Rs. 1.8 trillion in various sectors over the next three years and provide 4G internet services in 2015.
Ambani-led Jio introduced its LYF 4G smartphone brand in February 2016, and by June 2016, it had become India’s third-largest-selling mobile phone brand.
Reliance’s shares rose when the service Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, often known as Jio, became live in September 2016.
