Paul Sparks – Bio

Sparks was born on October 16, 1971, in Lawton, Oklahoma, to Michael and Jane Sparks. His father was a high school football coach at Marlow High School (where Paul attended) and his mother an elementary school teacher.

After Paul graduated from high school in 1990, he got a scholarship to study chemistry at Oklahoma State University, but he later transferred to New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts where he graduated in 1995 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in drama.

While in high school, Paul Sparks was part of the school’s Outlaw Speech Team – Marlow Outlaw Speech Team (M.O.S.T.) where he had the opportunity of being coached by Paula and Gary McConnell.

Carrer

After college, Paul went into acting. He began with the theatre, appearing on several stage performances like Blackbird, Take Me Out, Orange Flower Water, Buried Child, etc. In 2010, he took up the character of Mickey Doyle on HBO’s drama series Boardwalk Empire, this role got him so much popularity.

The series stopped airing in 2014 after five seasons and Paul has appeared in several other series and films since then. Like his wife, Paul has also made several appearances on Law & Order, his other TV films include House of Cards, The Girlfriend Experience, The Night Of, Get Shortly, Waco, The Crown, Sweetbitter and lots more.

The talented actor has also been nominated for several awards and has won some too. He is a two-time winner of Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series, for his performance in the TV series –  Boardwalk Empire. In 2013 also, he won the Robert Altman Award for his outstanding performance in the Mud.

Sparks has been married to since 2005 and they both have two adorable children. A son, Emmett, who was born in 2009 and a daughter, Lydia, born in 2014. Just like his wife, Paul keeps his family life off the media, so you will find that little or no information about their private lives are found on public platforms.

Annie is also a Hollywood actress, whose real name is Anne Marie Cancelmi. She is an alumnus of London’s Holborn Center for Performing Arts. Before gaining fame and popularity in the movie industry, Annie taught an ‘Acting for the Camera’ class at Fordham University.

She made her acting debut appearing as Julia Snyder in the CBS soap opera As the World Turns, which aired from 1998 to 2001. Her performance in the series earned her the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series in 2001. She has also starred in Third Watch, Law & Order, Friends, Big Apple, and in Paterno where she played the role of Mary Kay Paterno.

The award-winning actor is quite tall, standing at 6’1″ inches that is, about 1.85 m. His weight is not exactly confirmed but ranges between 60 and 68kg. Sparks suffers from diabetes mellitus type 1 and asides from acting, he also works with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Despite working on a number of projects with co-actor Michael Shannon, the duo are very good friends.
