The beauty was born in Jamshedpur, India, to Indian parents – Ashok Chopra and Madhu Chopra on July 18, 1982. Since his parents served in The Indian army as physicians at the time, the family moved around a lot. She grew up with her younger brother, Siddharth. From Delhi to Pune, Lucknow, Bareilly, and Ladakh, the Chopras travelled around, thanks to frequent job transfers. Similarly, the actress had her education in different schools like La Martiniere Girls’ School, Lucknow and St. Maria Goretti College, Bareilly.

She also attended schools in Newton, Massachusetts, New York and Iowa after moving to the United States to continue her education while staying with an aunt whose family also moved around a lot.

While pursuing her academics, she also took part in theatre productions and mastered Western classical music, choral singing and Kathak dance.

After representing India at the 2000 Miss World pageant, Priyanka Chopra got hooked with entertainment and went on to debut on the big screen in the film Thamizhan in 2002 and in 2003, she made her Bollywood debut, starring as the second female lead in the movie The Hero: Love Story of a Spy.
