Rag’n’Bone Man Biography

Rag’n’Bone Man was born as Rory Charles Graham on the 29th day of January 1985. His place of birth was in Uckfield, East Sussex. Although we can’t substantiate this, we have a reason to believe Rory was one of those kids you’d describe as troublesome when he was growing up. For reasons we are yet to confirm, he was chased away by the authorities of his school – King’s Academy Ringmer.

Following the expulsion, Rory’s alternative was to attend his hometown’s Uckfield Community Technology College. It was more out of necessity, Rag’n’Bone Man never liked school. He that he’d forsake his school assignments and bunk off with his friends at a CD shop. From there, they’d head to one of his friends’ house and make drum-and-bass mix tapes.

As much as we can tell, Rag’n’Bone Man’s passion for music was planted by his parents and watered by Roots Manuva, an English rapper and producer regarded as one of the most influential figures in the history of British music. It is that Rag’n’Bone Man was working towards becoming a Jungle MC until he started listening to Manuva’s songs. The songs resonated with Rory’s liking for American hip-hop. Thus, he started rapping and singing. He also tapped into his parents’ love for jazz and soul music, worked on blending his music exposure together and birthed his own music style.

When the Graham family moved to Brighton, Rory and his friends formed a rap group they named Rum Committee and he started performing live at events which ultimately exposed him to those who helped him penetrate the music industry.

Surprisingly, Rag’n’Bone Man was never taught how to sing. He would sing, listen to himself and try to make it better. For this reason and the fact that he likes having live performances for people, the man has pledged that his rise to fame wouldn’t stop him from being a musician the way he thought himself music. He would keep performing for people to stay alive in the industry.

His Parents, Family and Girlfriend

From the preceding passage, we’ve come to learn that Rag’n’Bone Man has his parents to thank for the fame, admiration and wealth he’s enjoying today in the name of music. What’s more? Well, that’s all about it – they nurtured their son’s interest in music. His dad would play his guitar as his mum sing along with old blues records. There was a time the musician described his family as a “musical family”.

Rory isn’t married yet but he has been in love with Beth Rouy for over eight years. Now, they have more in common than the love they share. The duo welcomed their first child sometime in September 2017.
