Reba McEntire is an American singer, songwriter, actress, and record producer. She comes from a family with a rich background in rodeos and steer roping. Her father and grandfather were both champion steer ropers. Reba McEntire’s father was a World Champion Steer Roper three times (1957, 1958, and 1961).

Bio, Age, Family

Reba Nell McEntire was born on the 28th of March 1955 in McAlester, Oklahoma. She was born to mother Jacqueline (Née Smith) and father Clark Vincent McEntire. Our sources say that her mother once wanted to be a musician but eventually decided to become a schoolteacher. While growing up, her mother taught them how to sing. Reba taught herself how to play the guitar as reports say.

Normally, on their car rides home from their father’s rodeo shows, Reba, and her siblings learned songs and harmonies from their mother. They eventually formed a vocal group named the “Singing McEntires” which included Riba’s brother, Pake, and her younger sister Susie. However, her older sister Alice wasn’t a part of the group. Reba McEntire played the guitar in the group and wrote all the songs. The group performed at rodeos and recorded the song – “The Ballad of John McEntire” as a group. It was later released on the indie label Boss, the song was recorded to have sold over one thousand copies.

Two of her siblings just like her also made a career in the music industry.. Her brother Pake went into country music in the 80s but returned to Oklahoma after a brief stint. Currently, he owns and operates a 1,000-acre ranch near Coalgate, Oklahoma, and continues to rodeo. Susie, her sister is a successful Christian music singer who travels the country with her husband, speaking and performing.

Education, Music Career

In 1974, Reba attended the Southeastern Oklahoma State University with plans to be an elementary school teacher. She eventually graduated on the 16th of December 1976, after which she continued to sing locally. That same year she performed the American National anthem at the National Rodeo in Oklahoma City. During her performance, she was noticed by country singer Red Steagall. He was also performing at the National Rodeo and witnessed Reba’s performance. He felt Reba had a future in music and agreed to help her launch a country-music career in Nashville, Tennessee. In 1975 she recorded a demo tape and signed a recording contract with Mercury Records.

However, after her recording deal was finalized, it wasn’t a bed of roses moving forward. But as they say, the rest is history. Reba went on to be celebrated by a huge following of fans. She was recognized as an award-winning singer, actress, and an icon of interest as a whole.

Reba McEntire Body

At her current age, it’s a mystery to most of her fans how she has managed to maintain her hourglass shape and still look as young and “better shaped” than most ladies her age. I used the term “ladies” because she is the very definition of the saying “age is just a number”.  Reba McEntire has been blessed with a stunning body stats of 37-26-37, you can’t help but love her.

Moving forward, there were some whispers about her “hourglass” look, some say that she underwent surgery to achieve her look. Others said she got her look with disciplined diet and exercise. The answer is still unknown.

Son, Married, Husband, Divorce

On the 23rd of February 1990, Reba gave birth to her first child Shelby Steven McEntire Blackstock. At this time, she was with her ex-husband Narvel Blackstock in Nashville, Tennessee. Currently, her son is an American race car driver and has been racing since 2012. We do know he has a successful career in racing and he has a net worth estimated to be around $8 million.

Reba married Charlie Battles in 1976. Battles was a steer wrestling champion and rancher. He had two teenage sons in a previous marriage, reports also gathered that Battles was at least ten years older than Reba at the time they got married. They shared a ranch together in Oklahoma. McEntire and Battles got a divorce in 1987. Reba eventually moved to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue her career.

In 1989, Reba got married to her manager Narvel Blackstock in a private ceremony. As a couple, he oversaw all aspects of Reba’s career and went on to form Starstruck Entertainment. The company was originally designed to help manage her career. McEntire inherited three stepchildren by the names; Chassidy, Shawna, and Brandon.

On the 3rd of August 2015, it was announced in a joint statement on McEntire’s website that she and Blackstock had been separated for a few months after twenty-six years of marriage. In December 2015, Reba McEntire announced that their divorce had been finalized. McEntire remains very close to her three stepchildren despite the divorce as well as the Blackstock family.
