As a senior, he notched over 1,000 points while setting a high school record with 780 rebounds. During the NBA draft of 2015, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson was selected by the Portland Trail Blazers. He was the 23rd player to be picked in the first round of the draft. However, after signing his rookie contract at the beginning of July 2015; Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and his co-draftee Steve Blake were traded by the Blazers to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for a forward player Mason Plumlee, as well as, draft rights to a 41st overall pick in the draft.
