Professional Career

Ryan Switzer alongside four of his North Carolina Tar Heels teammates was shortlisted for the 2017 NFL draft. Joining the Cowboys, Ryan made his first professional appearance on September 10, 2017, featuring in their game against New York Giants. He played the role of a punt returner; thus finishing the game with two kick returns and one punt return. For the rest of his rookie season, Ryan alternated between wide receiver and punt returner. At the end of the season, he was placed ninth in the list of 20 best punt returners in the NFL and the third-best among the 10 kick returners in the league.
