Sean Harmon was born into a showbiz family. The American actor is known for his role as the younger character of his father in the NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service franchise.

Sean was born in Burbank, California, on April 25, 1988. He was born to Thomas Mark Harmon, a popular American film and TV actor, and Pamela Dawber, an actress best known for her role in the American sitcom Mork & Mindy.

Looking at his background, it’s quite obvious where Sean got his acting skills from. His close watching of his parents as they progressed in their acting career must have inspired his passion as an actor from a very tender age. He has a younger brother named Ty Christian who has equally found a career path in the movie industry but as a screenwriter.

Not only is Sean’s parents Mark and Pam well known in the entertainment industry, his paternal and maternal grandparents have also had their times in the industry. His grandfather Tom Harmon was a popular football player as well as a sportscaster in America while his mother, who is both an actress and a model, also had her root in the entertainment industry.

Sean’s mother was born in Detroit, Michigan, as the older of two daughters of Eugene E. Dawber, a commercial artist and Thelma M. (née Fisher). Her first start with the industry was as a model for Wilhelmina International, a modelling and talent agency in New York City. Records show that her first screen test was in a sitcom – Tabitha, a spin-off of another sitcom fantasy series, Bewitched.

Meanwhile, Sean’s father Mark had his hands on other career-boosting activities aside from acting. As a college footballer, he started as a quarterback for the UCLA Bruins football team in the early 1970s. He then developed a career in advertising and worked as a merchandising actor before venturing into acting proper, making his first TV appearance in a commercial for Kellogg’s Product 19 cereal with his father, Tom Harmon.

Mark’s mother Elyse Knox (née Elsie Lillian Kornbrath) and his two older sisters are also movie people. One of his sisters, Kristin Nelson is both an actress – first appearing in the Nelson family TV show The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet – and a primitive painter. The other sister Kelly Harmon is also an actress and a model.
