American born actress Sharon Leal first manifested talents in singing before she diversified her interest into acting. At the tender age of two, the young star was moved by the strong desire to perform. She expressed her urge by singing with a microphone which was captured on tape by her parents. Her interest later tilted towards the acting profession during her teens when she became active in community Theater productions.

She graduated from the theater to the screen with notable roles in both movies and television series including; Why Did I Get Married?, Why Did I Get Married Too?, Dreamgirls, Legacy, This Christmas, Boston Public, and Guiding Light. The actress cum singer was born Sharon Ann Leal in Tucson, Arizona United States on the 17th of October, 1972. Her place of birth makes her an American national. She grew up in California and also spent some time in the Philippines. Her biological dad’s identity is not known but according to available data, he was of African-American origin and worked as military police. Her Filipino mom Angelita broke up with her dad before Sharon came into the world.

Angelita went into a second marriage with Jesse Leal who adopted Sharon as his legal child. Sharon’s stepfather Jesse earned a living working in the US Airforce as a Master Sargent. He was also in Clark Airbase in the Philippines where he worked as a police officer. During his stay in the Philippines, Jesse took both Sharon and her mom along with him. The young actress attended prayer school there till the age of six when her family went back to the United States to live in Fresno, CA.

She made her television debut in Legacy (1998–1999) as Marita in 18 episodes, and then went on to feature in a couple of other series like Boston Public (2000–2004) as Marilyn Sudor, Vanessa Lodge in Hellcats (2010–2011) and as Dr. Claire Browne’s Mother in The Good Doctor (2018) with many other works. Some of Sharon’s film credit include Face the Music (2000) as Tracie, Why Did I Get Married Too? (2010) as the character Dianne Brock and as Phoebe in Shot (2017).
