Stellan Skarsgård Bio

Stellan Skarsgård was born to Swedish parents, Gudrun and Jan Skarsgård on June 13th, 1951. He spent his childhood moving from place to place in what is perhaps a result of his parents’ employment responsibilities.

Stellan was raised an atheist and is a known critic of religion and its effects, especially in Sweden. He is a humanist.

Between his nomadic childhood and Stellan taking an interest in acting early in his life, so much that he was already a star in Sweden by the time he was 21, he has no considerable formal educational background available in the public space at the moment.

Career

Stellan has been married twice. His first marriage was to My Skarsgård, a doctor, with whom he had six children. The couple got married in April 1975 and were together until May 2007 when they got divorced. Four of their six children, Alexander, Gustaf, Bill, and Valter have followed in their father’s footsteps in pursuit of an acting career. Their only daughter, Eija, is a former model.

Stellan remarried two years after his divorce in January 2009 to Megan Everett and shares two children with his second wife. The couple has two sons, Ossain and Kolbjörn.

After his 8th child, Skarsgård got a vasectomy, declaring that he was more than fine with eight children.
