He began his football career with Vitesse/youth AGOVV’s squad. He later went on to play for WSV Apeldoorn’s youth squad and Go Ahead Eagles. On 19 January 2011, he made his first-team debut for Twente as a substitute in a 5-0 Eredivisie win over Heracles.
