Growing up in the sparsely populated state, she came to love the place mainly because of its abundant wildlife, landscape, forest, and mountains. She struggled through life and it made her immune to the harsh conditions of life such as hunger, thirst, extreme weather conditions, etc.

Appearance On Life Below Zero

Sue Aikens became a star after she joined and became a cast member of documentary series Life Below Zero, produced by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) for the National Geographic Channel. The TV show documents the daily living of people trying to survive in the coldest of temperatures – below zero degrees – having to be confronted by wild animals such as wolves, bears, and foxes almost every day. In the TV series which was first aired in May 2013 and which is already in its ninth season, Aikens stars alongside Glenn Villeneuve, Andy and Kate Bassich, Chip and Agnes Hailstone, James Franzo, Erik and Martha Mae Salitan, and Jessie Holmes.

Sue Aikens’ continued appearance on the show seems to be coming to an end as the TV personality has an ongoing legal tussle with the producers of the TV documentary. She filed a lawsuit against them in February 2017, claiming that the term and conditions by which she is made to work have made the working environment unsafe which has, in turn, caused her emotional stress. Explaining further, she said the producers make her work without a face mask or helmet which had been detrimental to her health. Also, she claimed that during the crash she had while driving a snow machine which she was made to drive howbeit unwillingly, the crew behind the camera delayed in rescuing her as they wanted to get some more footage of her struggling with injury.

Though the lawsuit was registered in 2017 and the case still pending in the courts, Aikens has continued to promote the show on her social media platforms while also appearing on the recently released episodes of the series, leading some to suggest that those episodes were previously shot before the legal action. Sue Aikens is worth over $500,000 and her net worth stems from her career as a TV personality which has seen her become involved in several (about three of them) TV series.
