Tom Wilson Biography

It was on March 29, 1994, that he was born in Toronto, Ontario as Thomas Wilson. He was born into a home that was not alien to hockey as such it only made sense for him to grow up loving the sports and deciding to give it a try in life. This is as his father, Keven Wilson was also a hockey player.

Wilson was raised alongside his elder brother, Peter in Toronto. Since he was as young as just 2 years old, their father introduced the two boys to play hockey in the backyard of their Toronto home where he built a rink for them. Not much is known about Tom Wilson’s mum – Neville Wilson.

For his education, he attended the Plymouth High School. Although he has always had had his mind to play hockey, his parents had ensured that he gave priority to his education as well. As a result of that, he excelled with A grades in his studies while also making it as a player.

Tom now plays in the United States, while his family, including his brother, still resides in Toronto. They however, came to the United States to witness his first game after he began playing for the Washington Capitals in 2013.

Professional Career and Stats

Before making it to the NHL, Tom Wilson played for the Canada Ontario under-17 team with which he won the Gold medal at the World U-17 Hockey Challenge. Also, as an amateur, he played for the Plymouth Whalers in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). With good stats, 23 goals and 58 points, it was clear that he was on the rise.

Professionally, it was in 2013 that he made his start in the NHL against the New York Rangers. That was in the game 5 of the Cup playoffs

Again in the 2016/2017 season, Tom Wilson played in 82 games, scoring 7 goals and providing 12 assists. The 2017/2018 season saw him performing in an exceptional manner with 14 goals and 21 assists from 78 games. With penalty minutes, he has always ended as one among the top 10.
