Trey Lyles is a popular Canadian-American basketball player who plays professionally for the Denver Nuggets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Ranked as one of the best high school basketball players in the country in his high school senior year, Lyles was sought heavily by teams such as the Kentucky Wildcats, Indiana Hoosier, and Louisville Cardinals. Trey Lyles began building his basketball career from high school with the support of his dad who has been his basketball coach cum trainer. During his freshman year in 2010, he committed to Indiana but later de-committed in 2012.
On November 5, 2013, Lyles signed a letter of intent to play and study at the University of Kentucky. He averaged 23.7 points, 12.9 rebounds and 3.5 assists during his senior year and led his school team to the IHSAA Class 4A State Championship game in a 63-59 win over Lake Central.
At the conclusion of his senior year at Arsenal Tech, Lyles was voted as the state of Indiana’s Mr. Basketball. He didn’t have a good start on getting into college at Kentucky on June 12, 2014.
