Ulrika Jonsson is a Swedish media personality making waves in the United Kingdom as a television presenter. She became famous for presenting the weather program TV-am, the sports entertainment game show Gladiators, and as the captain of the comedy panel show Shooting Stars. In Sollentuna, Stockholms län, Sweden on the 16th of August 1967, Ulrika Jonsson (full name – Eva Ulrika Jonsson) was born to the family of Gun Brodie (mother) and Bo Jonsson (father). Ulrika is the grandchild of renowned opera singer Folke Jonsson. When she was still a little girl, her parents went through a divorce which meant she came under the sole guardianship of her mother who subsequently relocated with her to the UK in 1979.

For her academics, Ulrika got tutored at Burnham Grammar School from where she graduated and furthered her studies at a secretarial college. From an early age, she had always been interested in working on TV which probably informed her decision to go looking for a job that could get her close to realize that dream. Jonsson first began working as a personal assistant to Bruce Gyngell, the head of TV-am in 1989. Being focused on how she wanted to grow her career, she soon distinguished herself in character and in learning which earned her a role on the Good Morning Britain TV show as a weather presenter. Her appearance on the show effectively marked the beginning of her now burgeoning media career.

While working on TV-am, Ulrika Jonsson also worked on Swedish TV3 in the same capacity as a weather presenter. Her broadcasting career continued to bud with a co-presenting role on a short-lived daytime quiz show Who’s Bluffing Who? in 1991. Her big break then came in 1992 when she left weather presenting for LWT’s sports entertainment gameshow – Gladiators – which for the next 7 years was a huge success. At this time, Ulrika Jonsson didn’t put all her eggs in one basket as the presenter was also on TV as the host of The National Lottery Draws, in addition to hosting Eurovision Song Contest in 1998 and the Miss World beauty contest in 1999.

In addition to all these, Ulrika Jonsson was a housemate on Celebrity Big Brother (2009), Ultimate Big Brother (2010) and Celebrity MasterChef (2017). Next was her relationship with former English footballer, Stan Collymore, followed by that with a German hotel manager, Marcus Kempen for whom she bore her second child, a daughter named Bo in the year 2000. In a similar manner like her first, Ulrika Jonsson’s relationship with Kempen ended after the birth of their daughter.

She has also dated former England national football team manager, Sven-Göran Eriksson. The duo was an item in 2002 but what held them together wasn’t one that would last for a long time. Ulrika then encountered Lance Gerrard-Wright around April 2002 on the reality television show Mr. Right.
