Victoria Digiorgio was a stay at home wife who was married to notorious Italian-American mobster, John Gotti, nicknamed The Dapper Don. She is the mother to John A. Gotti who was also a mobster. She is known for standing up for her husband and her son during the period of their incarceration.

She had five children with John Gotti; the first two are girls and she named them Angel and Victoria. Their third child is John A. Gotti who took over as the boss of the family business after his father was imprisoned while the last two are Frank and Peter Gotti.

Victoria Digiorgio – Bio

On December 5, 1942, in the city of Brooklyn, New York, United States of America  Victoria Digiorgio was born to parents who were low middle-class factory workers. Her father was Russian and her mother was an Italian-Jew. However, her parents went their separate ways when she just a toddler – at the tender age of two. It was cited that she gained possession of quite a large amount of money from her maternal ancestral estate. As it stands, much has not been divulged as regards her education and her childhood.

On a fateful day at a pub in 1958, Digiorgio’s path crossed with Italian-American John Joseph Gotti Jr. and a romantic relationship blossomed between the two. The couple later became husband and wife on March 6, 1962, and began a family in Queens, New York.

Prior to their wedding, they had a daughter in 1961. As a couple, they had three sons and two daughters together; Angel, Victoria, John, Frank, and Peter Gotti. Unfortunately, tragedy struck on a gloomy day in the month of March 1980, when Victoria Digiorgio lost her fourth child and second son Frank who was only 12 years old at the time to the cold hands of death in a fatal car accident which occurred in their neighborhood. It was reported that her neighbor by the name John Favara was driving under the influence and apparently knocked down Frank, pulling him over a distance of 200 feet before his vehicle was halted.

Four months after the accident, Favara disappeared into oblivion and was never seen till date. Victoria Digiorgio was severely struck emotionally by the death of her son that she plunged into a depressed state and almost attempted suicide, however, her husband made immense efforts to console her to the extent of organizing a family get-away.

Husband, Son – John A. Gotti

Digiorgio was not oblivious of her husband’s criminal activities and constantly rebuked him though she was not quick to publicly admit his gang connections. The rebuke bordered around the safety of herself and her family. Her husband, John Gotti was the leader of the Gambino illegal syndicate and received a life sentence without the possibility of parole on 23 June 1992.

His sentence took effect from 14 December 1992 at United States Penitentiary in Marion, Illinois. Upon her husband’s incarceration, it was heart-wrenching for her to realize that her son, John A. Gotti had followed the father’s strides and became the interim leader of the Gambino illegal syndicate. She on several occasions confronted her husband to withdraw her son from the syndicate and even threatened to abandon the marriage. On 10 June 2002, Digiorgio’s husband passed on from complications of throat cancer at the age of 61.

Digiorgio’s son, John A. Gotti, was imprisoned and she advised him to take a plea bargain against the support of her husband. However, in 2009 his case was claimed to be a mistrial and he was discharged. Victoria Digiorgio had suffered a series of stroke. She is reported to have suffered 3 bouts of stroke since 2006 from which she had some level of partial paralysis.

Digiorgio’s daughter, Victoria Gotti, is a well-known writer and a television personality. Gotti had on several occasions talked about her family and her divorced husband who was being linked to being a mobster.
