Travis Fimmel is an accomplished Australian actor and former model who owes his rise to prominence to his role as Ragnar Lothbrok in the History Channel popular series, Vikings. Born on July 17, 1979, the hunky Australian began his career as a model after he was discovered by a talent scout working for Chadwick Models agency while working out at a gym in Melbourne. During his active years in the modeling industry, Fimmel modeled for Calvin Klein underwear and also appeared on the cover of W model management in 2002 along with iconic model Gisele Bündchen.

Fimmel’s acting career began sometime in 2002 shortly after he graduated from acting school in Los Angeles. He was trained by iconic Hollywood acting trainer Ivana Chubbuck, who according to reports, also trained powerhouses like Charlize Theron, Brad Pitt, and Eva Mendes.

Travis Fimmel’s Career Growth and His Most Recent Projects

Travis Fimmel had to wait for almost a decade since starting his acting career before landing what became his breakthrough role – the role of Ragnar Lothbrok in History TV’s Viking and after his character was killed off in the show’s fourth season, many viewers who had taken a liking to him became curious about his subsequent endeavors.

Fimmel had originally signed a contract to appear on the show for four seasons and after seeing through the end of his contract, he bid the show farewell. The good news is, Travis Fimmel remains very active as an actor. His next gig after Vikings was the role of Anduin Lothar in the 2016 American action fantasy film, Warcraft which is based on a video game of the same name.

Up next was the role of Ray Thompson in 2017’s British drama film, Lean on Pete. The year 2019 was a busy one for Fimmel, perhaps his most active year since leaving the set of Vikings. He starred in three films including the heist thriller Finding Steve McQueen, Australian war film Danger Close: The Battle of Long Tan which is based on the Vietnam war, and the American drama thriller, Dreamland. Travis Fimmel seemed to have remained more active on the big screen since leaving Vikings.

In 2019, it was announced that he booked parts in three future film projects including El Tonto, Here Are the Young Men, and Die in a Gunfight. However, 2020 will see Travis Fimmel return to the platform that gave him international recognition – the small screen. The Aussie actor earned the lead role of Marcus in the American science fiction series, Raised by Wolves which is set to premiere in 2020. The series is the brainchild of Ridley Scott and Aaron Guzikowski and will air on HBO Max.

Relationship Life: Who is He Married To?

No, Travis Fimmel, as of this writing, is without a wife. In the past, there have been rumors of him being married to Serena Viharo, but the news was only rumors and nothing more. The rumors of the marriage stemmed from the close relationship between the two which seems to be only platonic after all. Serena who was born on August 7, 1977, in Los Angeles, California, is best known for her appearances in movies like – Pranksters (2002), The Man from Earth (2007), and Wheelmen (2005).

Though Fimmel is yet to tie the knot with anyone just yet, the Aussie hunk has dated many women in the past. His first girlfriend post-fame was an American model known as Joy Bryant. Bryant and Fimmel called it quits before the latter’s rise to stardom. The Australian actor is said to have also had a short-lived relationship with a Russian lady named Nita Kuzmina. He was also alleged to be in a relationship with Ceara-Lynch, an American pornstar.

Travis Fimmel then dated English professional singer Nicole Appleton. The pair started dating around 1999 but called it quits after three years of being together. He has been linked to Rachael Hunter, a Kiwi Model he dated for some time. Shortly after his separation from Hunter in 2002, Fimmel and American model Jessica Miller became friends. They dated for some time, after which they called it quits.

Unfazed by his past rocky relationships, Travis began another search for true love which he eventually found in the arms of Merrin Dungey. The pair couldn’t keep up for long as their relationship ended in 2003.

Following his appearance in 2016’s Warcraft, rumors were rife that he was dating Paula Patton who played his on-screen girlfriend, but this was never confirmed.
