Who Is Ben Baller and How Old is He?

Ben Yang was born on the 27th of January in 1973, in Los Angeles, California. He is of Korean descent and is the youngest of three children and can boast of a childhood that was experienced in comfort, he was raised in Koreatown, Los Angeles.

His father is a professor of history and Asian-American studies at UCLA while his mother owned a jean making factory. Baller’s elder siblings including one sister and a brother are also very successful in their chosen fields. His elder sister Jeanne Yang is a celebrity stylist and has worked with a number of celebrities. David Yang, his other sibling is a well-known video game developer.

For his high school education, Ben Baller attended the prestigious Beverly Hills High School and went ahead to attend the University of California, but sometime during his stay at UCLA, he transferred to San Francisco State University where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Cinematography.

Ben Yang came to be called Ben Baller because of the sports he engaged in while at the University. While in college, he played football and basketball and at the time was among the first few Asians to play the sport at college level nationwide.

After college, he started to make music and DJing at parties. Meeting Dr. Dre was the kick in the door of the music industry for him, Dre offered him a job at his studio and his successful career in the music industry officially began.

However, music was not enough for him; as a producer, he worked for Aftermath Entertainment and he became the Record Vice President for A&R’ Priority Record, but he got tired of working for other people and as a result birthed the idea of engaging himself with jewellery making. In 2004, in conjunction with an uncle and cousin, the company IF & CO. was birthed.

On the 25th of February, 2012, Ben Baller got married to Nicolette Lacson. The ceremony was a small one and had in attendance only 87 guests some of who are celebrities; it was a beachfront wedding and occurred at Casa Del Mar in Santa Monica. Although the staff at the venue was rude and his wedding gatecrashed, the ceremony was still a success.

Baller had lost his best friend/best man and the wedding that was originally scheduled to hold in September of 2011 was pushed to the next year.

Nicolette Lacson is a Filipino-American who has a career as a model, actress and swimwear designer. She was a contestant in the Miss Philippines USA pageant of 2002 and emerged as second runner-up. She attended Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles California. Lacson credits most of the success as a designer and fashion industry entrepreneur to her time at the Institute.

She is a lover of animals and has been involved in animal rescue and adoption efforts. She has 3 Yorkshire Terriers herself and continues to advocate for the adoption of animals.
