Blanca Blanco Bio

Blanca Blanco was born on the 22nd of January, 1981, in Watsonville, California, where she was raised by parents along with her siblings. As a child, Blanco’s parents had to work multiple jobs in order to provide for their children as they encouraged them to take up any of the performing arts.

With this encouragement, Blanco, from an early age, gained an interest in singing and acting. When her parents were able to see that she had a considerable amount of talent, they enrolled her at acting and singing classes where she got to further brush up on her natural talent. Blanco went on to show passion for the arts as she was able to organize theatre performances with her siblings. She later went a step further to join the improvisational and sketch comedy troupe, The Groundlings, as well as a group put together by actor Gordon Hunt, The Gordon Hunt Group, through which she performed in multiple stage productions.

By the time Blanco finished high school, she gained admission to study Psychology at Washington State University, which prompted her to put a hold to her acting ambitions. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree, she enrolled at Eastern Washington University where she earned a master’s degree in Social Work. She then went on to find work as a counselor for hospice patients before later returning to her first love, acting.

Blanca Blanco made her acting debut in the independent film The Last Chicana (2010) before going on to appear in a number of other independent short films, one of which she co-produced. In 2011, she played the role of Mrs. Von Brausen in the parody sequel to the film Showgirls, titled Showgirls 2: Penny’s from Heaven.
