Who Is Gabi Butler?

Gabi Butler was born on the 16th of January 1998, in Boca Raton, Florida. She was raised alongside her three siblings – Amanda, Ashley, John Michael by their parents whose names she is yet to reveal.

The athlete began her journey into the world of dancing, jumping, and tumbling otherwise known as cheerleading as an eight-year-old. She soon became known for her flexibility as a flyer and her strong tumbling skills, besides her great passion for the sport. Slowly but steadily, she made for the top. Gabi Butler didn’t have a formal education setting but was rather homeschooled to allow her time and space to hone her skills and advance her career.

She was a part of an All-Star gym named Top Gun and Trinity which won the World Championships in 2010. Unfortunately, she didn’t take part in the competition as she got injured a month prior. Nevertheless, she clinched many local championships titles.

In 2012, Gabi Butler moved to California to be a professional cheerleader. There, she lived with her host family in Ventura while she trained for her World Champion team, the California Allstars SMOED. The same year, she also traveled the world, training athletes as a way to not only establish a legacy based on her achievements as an athlete but also in giving back to the community. The team won two World Championships in 2013 and 2014. Prior to leaving the Cali based team in 2014, Butler added a jacket in the NCA, along with her team, to her championship titles.

Gabi Wasn’t The First Cheerleader In Her Family

While not much is known about her family, she was inspired to cheer by her sister, Ashley. Nevertheless, everything changed when she saw World Champion power tumbler, Kiara Nowlin and wanted to tumble like her. Nowlin was the main tumbler and squad veteran of Cali SMOED. The big break came in 2012 when Butler was asked to be on SMOED. Though she did not only get to be in the same team with Kiara, the duo got to work together, training athletes around the world in 2012.

For Gabi Butler, Family Comes Before Career

After living away from her home in Florida for two long years to become a part of Cali Smoed, Gabi Butler decided not to return for the third season. She returned to her family in Boca Raton, Florida where she has continued to train her skills. In November 2014, she joined the international team, Gymtyme Blink IOC5.

In an open letter to her fans, on Facebook, the all-star cheerleader shared that being home with her family is what makes her happiest. After all, life is too short not to follow what makes you truly happy, right? She continues to cheer for the team and is also part of the co-ed team.

In 2016, she returned to California to fill in for an injured athlete at the Cali Aces Worlds 2016 competition and she was in Cheerleaders season 7 with the Reckless team, California.

The All-Star Cheerleader Is Also An Actress

As an actress, the professional tumbler has appeared in a number of TV shows, movies, as well as web series. In 2013, her team was featured on the YouTube web show titled Cheerleaders. Moreover, following their win at the 24-team event, she appeared in the movie, The Champions League which was a documentary that highlighted the victory.

Gabi Butler has also recorded some guest appearances in projects such as the web series Make Me Over and IMO both in 2013 and the television series Secret Diary of an American Cheerleader (2012). In addition, she was featured on an ABC Nightline special in July 2014. The show was aimed to help the audience understand the intense world of athletic cheerleading.
