Their Cute Love Story

A marital union of over two decades in an industry known for storm-riddled relationships is worthy of acclamations. It is simply a far cry from the pattern that has been witnessed in Hollywood with celebrities marriages and relationships where split and divorce is more like a default setting in such unions.

That is not to say that the marriage is hitch free or have had its sail storm free, but it is more like a survivor in the midst of all the drawbacks and many challenges that combat such a union. Nancy Carell and Steve Carell has been married since 1995 and has remained one of the strongest couples in the showbiz industry. Let’s take a look at their cute love story.

How Did They Meet?

The beautiful love story set out in the troupe, The Second City where Nancy was a student in a class Steve taught. However, as against what you might think, the two comedic forces did not hit it off at first, although they were attracted to each other. Steve disclosed that asking her out on a date was some kind of a herculean task as he kept beating around the bush for a long time.

He thought at first that the lady he was interested in (Nancy) hated him because she was acting quietly around him although he knew at first sight that she was the one for him. But the truth was that she was just as nervous as he was and was only trying to act cool.

Nevertheless, the thought of being possibly rejected brought back the memory he had of the first girl he ever asked out on a date in eighth grade. He got a point blank NO as a reply and has since then until Nancy’s acceptance been careful when treading that path.

He didn’t start on a fancy note but said something like if he were to ever ask someone out, it would be someone like her. Stupid right? But guess what? Nancy was right on his toe to return a more awkward response. She responded that if somebody like Steve were to ask her out, she would definitely go out with him. If ever such a person was in existence and sure he is, of course, Steve was there. They were already smitten by each other but then, didn’t know how to present their cases.

Anyway, that was just the beginning of their happy ever after. They later clinched a date and had their first date at the Green Mill jazz club. The duo tied the knot on August 5, 1995. And the journey has been characterized by an endless bliss.

Family Life, Children

The twosome shares the same sense of humor although Steve does not think his wife is an easy laugh. He counted this as one of the many reasons why he loves her. He considers Nancy his barometer of whether jokes are good or not and says she challenges him intellectually and comedically. Comedically because she is not someone who will laugh at everything everybody does.

He further added that Nancy Carell, his wife is the smartest, funniest person he has ever met. And that he never even assumed that a woman that smart and attractive would be even remotely interested in him.

She has played her husband’s love interest a number of times. For instance, in The Office where she portrayed one of his girlfriends and has appeared with him on a number of shows including The Daily Show.

Nancy Carell has said of her husband that he is very funny and doesn’t try as hard to be. They have two children, a daughter Elisabeth (born on May 25, 2001) and son John “Johnny” (born in June 2004).

As should be expected, their children seem to have inherited their parents’ sense of humor which their parents described as very pure and honest in an .

The super cute couple owns a house in Los Angeles as well as in Marshfield, Massachusetts where they get a chance to escape celebrity lives during the summer. The duo also own The Marshfield Hills General Store which they bought in 2009.
