Ty Murray rose to immense popularity when he joined the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) at the age of eighteen, becoming the youngest cowboy to have achieved such feat in the world, as indicated in the Guinness Book of Records. From that time to now, he has gone ahead to win several titles as a professional rodeo cowboy.

Currently, this celebrity rider is a nine-time world champion. He is also a ProRodeo Hall of Famer in the all-around category, PBR’s elite tour events color commentator, a member of the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) board of advisors, and one of the PBR’s co-founders.

Bio, Age – Who is Ty Murray?

Ty Murray is an accomplished rodeo cowboy born in the United States of America. His home town is Phoenix, a city in Arizona, and his date of birth is 11th October 1969. Ty is the only son of his American parents with a history in horse riding. His dad, Harold Murray was previously a rodeo hand and business owner who used to deal on starer equipment at horse racing venues across the U.S. He has Irish roots.

Joy Murray is the name of Ty’s mother. She is well-versed in the horse riding as well; she emerged the winner in the national Little Britches Rodeo Bull Riding contest and was a rider in the National Little Britches Rodeo Association.

Joy and Harold are also parents to Kerri and Kim, Ty’s two sisters. They were all raised together in Phoneix, where Ty, in particular, received lessons on rodeo fundamentals from his parents. The younger Murray was also mentored by a man called Larry Mahan. He is the renowned world champion bull rider and the highest winner of National Finals Rodeo (NFR) first place in history.

The legendary cowboy is a graduate of Arizona High School. He competed in his school’s Rodeo Association contest and emerged the All-Around Champion Cowboy and subsequently led them to their debut National High School Rodeo Association Championship in the year 1987.

At Odessa College, where he had received his college education, Ty also represented the institution in rodeo. Murray became a member of the Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA); the feat he achieved at the age of 18, becoming the youngest World All-Around Cowboy of the PRCA, as indicated in the Guinness Book of Records.

Murray boasts an impressive record as a rodeo cowboy. Apart from the fact that he is a top-earner; for seven times, he has emerged the winner of the World All-Around Champion title. Besides his rodeo career, he has also made on-screen appearances in TV series and commercials. He starred in episode 8 (Widow Maker) of the project Walker, Texas Ranger as himself.

The cowboy, in 2007, featured in the reality TV series, Fast Cars and Superstars: The Gillette Young Guns Celebrity Race. He starred in the series along with his wife Jewel, after which he took part in the Ty Murray’s Celebrity Bull Riding Challenge, where he attempted to pass across the knowledge of bull riding to 9 celebrities. Ty has also had a role in an episode of the series, CSI, precisely in January 2008.

The Phoenix native is equally a regular anchorman on televised PBR Bull Riding events and as of 2014, the rodeo champion serves as an ongoing board member of the Professional Bull Riders (PBR).

Family – Wife & Son

Ty Murray has an adorable family that comprises of his beautiful wife Paige Murray, their daughter, and son Kase Murray. Before Paige, the cowboy was previously married to American songwriter/singer, Jewel Kilcher. She is the daughter of an Alaska All-Around Rodeo Champion.

Jewel and Ty met in 1999 and tied the knot on a beach in the Bahamas in 2008 and welcomed their son, Kase Townes Murray on July 11, 2011. Sadly, the couple ended their marital relationship in the year 2014 after Jewel filed for divorce.

Murray later met Paige Duke while leaving a party in December 2014. After getting her contact information, he invited her for dinner, after which they became close friends and subsequently moved in together at the cowboy’s ranch in Stephenville, Texas.

Ty Murray proposed to Paige on a hike at Hope Lake, Colorado, on September 1, 2016, and later married her at the Quarry at Carrigan Farms in Mooresville, North Carolina, on 30th September 2017, in the presence of 200 guests. The two welcomed their daughter on 24th September 2018.
