1. She was born to Middle-Class Parents

The charming actress was born on November 20, 1943, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the United States. She was born to a carpenter and a housewife. She was raised in Philadelphia and holds American nationality. Right from her childhood, Hamel developed an interest in fashion design and her beauty also led her to pick a career in modelling. She attended and graduated from Temple University.

2. She Worked as a Secretary Before her Modeling and Acting Career

After her university education, Veronica Hamel worked as a secretary for an Ironing Board Covers manufacturing company. She worked there for a while before she resigned to kickstart her modelling career. Hamel modelled for cigarette commercial that aired in December 1970, in a show titled The Tonight Show as well as print ads for Slims and Pall Mall Cigarettes. She was later discovered by Eileen Ford who featured her as a model in the 1971 movie titled Klute.

Veronica Hamel and Irving dated back in the ‘60s and in 1971, the couple tied the knot. After their marriage, the power couple was together for about ten years and in 1981, they went their separate ways. The reason behind their divorce was not disclosed to the media but there were speculations it would be as a result of her busy career and Hamel doesn’t have any kids from the marriage. Since the divorce, the actress has not been in any known relationship to date. One year after her marriage to Michael Irving, the couple bought the house of the Hollywood legend Marilyn Monroe in 1972. Monroe was an iconic actress and singer active from the 1920s to the ‘60s. The news of her sudden demise surfaced in 1962 and there were unresolved mysteries surrounding her death. Later on, it was alleged that she had died from a Barbiturate overdose.

Hamel and Irving, during the renovation of the Brentwood mansion, discovered the wiretapping of the house as well as the telephone system. Later on, the couple paid about $100 thousand to get rid of the bugging devices from the house.
