Who Is Yvette Mimieux? Biography, Age

Yvette Mimieux is a retired American actress who was born  January 8, 1942, to a French father named Rene Mimieux and a Mexican mother, Carmen Montemayor in Los Angeles, California, U.S.A where she spent most of her early life. Not much is known about her educational background but it is a common knowledge that in her early years, she developed an interest in modelling and acting but later concentrated on building a career as an actress.

Her Movie Career

The actress made her debut film appearance in the 1960 movie in Platinum High School which was under a contract she signed with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc. (MGM). However, the movie which launched her career was George Pal’s film version of the 1985 novel written by H. G. Wells titled The Time Machine in which she starred alongside actor Rod Taylor, playing the role of Weena. That same year, she was in the popular teen comedy Where the Boys Are which was a box office success. She also made an appearance in the sitcoms Alcoa Presents: One Step Beyond and Mr Lucky. Two years later, MGM featured the actress in the film Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse but it turned out to be a flop. Also, her appearance in the film The Light in the Piazza in which she played a mentally disabled girl was said to be a financial disaster as it incurred a huge amount of loss in spite of the good praises movie critics accorded it. Later that same year, she landed a small role in the film The Wonderful World of the Brothers Grimm which also turned out to be a commercial disappointment.

In 1963, Yvette appeared in two films titled Diamond Head and Toys in the Attic. She played a small role in the 1964 film Looking for Love and was in two episodes of the sitcom Dr Kildare. The actress also landed a role in the melodrama Joy in the Morning and The Reward. She is also known for the Disney comedy Monkeys, Go Home! released in 1967, the heist film The Caper of the Golden Bulls and the MGM action film Dark of the Sun. The actress also recorded a huge success in the film Three in the Attic and landed a female lead role in the action film released 1970. She also had a lead role in the series The Most Deadly Game which was aired between 1970 to 1971.

 

Other Films

The retired talented actress is also known for the diverse roles she has played in films among which one can find her character as an air-hostess in the MGM film Skyjacked released in 1972, her role in the science fiction film The Neptune Factor and her assassin role in the film Hit Lady in 1974. In the 1975 film The Legend of Valentino, she played the role of Rudolph Valentino’s wife Natacha Rambova.

Yvette was in the 1976 box office hit film Jackson County Jail alongside actor Tommy Lee in which she played a woman who was victimized. She was also in horror films like Snowbeast released in 1977, Devil Dog: The Hound of Hell in 1978 and Disaster on the Coastliner in 1979. She was also in the Walt Disney film The Black Hole in 1979 and starred as the lead in Circle of Power. She played a female stalker in the 1984 sitcom Obsessive Love for which she was a co-writer and co-producer after which she appeared in several other series and her last film was the 1992 Lady Boss.
