However, he has also mastered the skill of turning his hobby into a major money-spinner, even though he admits that the money he makes occasionally takes even him by surprise.

Witwix was born Tom Burke on May 16, 1989. For all his humor during his game plays, Witwix is a pretty private individual. There is no information about his place of birth, education or family.

Wix fell in love with gaming when his uncle got him a Super Nintendo game – he was five years old at the time. His uncle immediately regretted the decision because it resulted in Witwix losing almost all semblance of a social life. While other kids would be going to the park, or having sleepovers, Tom opted to stay indoors and play games for four to five hours at a stretch. He has kept up this gaming duration average for over twenty years.

Fortunately, Tom avoided the idiocy that his Uncle thought gaming would lead him into. He grew up like any normal person, went to school, graduated and got a pretty decent job. However, his love for gaming stayed with him. And then one day, at the start of 2014, he left his job. Living off a year’s worth of savings, he started his online game streaming channel.

But as many would have expected, he did not take the conventional route by launching a Youtube channel; he opted for the relatively smaller platform, Twitch. Witwix says he saw that it would be a huge gaming platform in the future and decided to leverage it immediately. Apparently, his decision paid off.

Wix did not have to wait long to start making money, even though it was nowhere near enough money to live on. But his situation began to change as he gained popularity with his quirky, interactive and humorous gameplay sessions. Perhaps his biggest boost came from his speedrun title in 2015 with the indie game I Wanna Be Boshy.

What is Witwix’s Net Worth?

Simply put, no one knows. Witwix initially saw a huge portion of his revenue come from donations. He saw little contributions of $10 and $20 come in frequently from his many twitch fans to keep him playing. In an interview with PSMag, Witwix says that he was always taken by surprise at the occasional big money donations of $1000 and above from ordinary people who just loved watching him play.

Eventually, as his audience grew into hundreds of thousands, money from advertisements started coming in and soon usurped donations as his main source of income. A small percentage of his income also comes from paid voluntary subscriptions to his channel.

Who Is Witwix’s Girlfriend?

Judging from his social media posts and those of his fans, Wix was in a relationship with a lady named Jendenise, who is also a Twitch streamer herself. The relationship was not smooth sailing and the couple were reported to have broken up a number of times.

In 2017, however, they appeared to have broken up for good. This has been reinforced by their tweets. Jendenise revealed in a not-so-veiled tweet that she was moving on from Wix and moving out of his place because she did not trust him anymore.

Following the breakup, reports began to surface about how the online gamer was a horrible boyfriend. One, in particular, stated how the last time around, he had taken her out to dinner just to break up with her. Reports suggested that she would be moving in with the manager of The Wobblers, a group that Witwix happens to be streaming under.

1. He is a businessman who believes in the power of entertainment

Wix runs his channel like a business and appreciates the fact that he makes money from it. However, this has earned him a bad reputation, especially in some sectors of the speedrunning game niche. It is said that making money from speedrunning is a move to rubbish the pure nature of the niche’s spirit.

Wix, however, believes the exact opposite. He believes that game streaming (especially speedrunning) is 75 percent entertainment and only 25 percent of the gameplay itself. Witwix says that most speedrunners believe one should ditch the entertainment and just focus on the gameplay. The online gamer superstar argues that while that approach may get him much higher speedrunning scores, it would lose him his audience. And in truth, Witwix’s personality, energetic commentary, and cheerful interaction with his audience are probably what keeps them coming back.

2. He banned a follower for addressing him by his real name

There was some controversy about Witwix’s real name that popped up on a Reddit in 2017. The redditor who started the thread said he had been banned by Witwix for calling him by his real name on his channel during a stream. He says that every attempt to right his wrong, including apologies and donations didn’t work. While other redditors were discussing the issue another contributor offered that Wix’s real name is not Tom Burke but Witherford Wixorian.

However, judging from several online profiles of the gamer, the former name is winning the debate.

3. Witwix also has a YouTube channel

Although the professional gamer depends solely on Twitch to run his business, he does operate a Youtube channel. However, this channel is not for the purposes of making money. He only uses it to post highlights of his live gaming on Twitch.
