How much do you know about Wiz Khalifa’s tattoos? No, really how much do you know? He is one of the rap artist’s with the most mind-blowing number of tattoos, judging by the fact that they are so many, it’s no doubt that people do not really pay attention to their meanings or significance. In light of that, here is all you need to know about Wiz Khalifa’s tattoos in 5 quick facts.

  • Wiz Khalifa Has 411 Tattoos

The question of how many tattoos the Pittsburg bred artist has, must have crossed your mind once or twice. You might have even guessed, although that would just be confusing given the fact that most of his tattoos overlap. Nevertheless it is highly unlikely that you arrived at the figure above. Before you ask, we did not count them because that would undoubtedly be a colossal waste of time. We got this tid-bit of information from the horse’s mouth.

The star admitted, on an episode of Saturday Night Live, hosted by Scarlett Johansson, that at last count he had 411 different pieces. That explains a lot, you can hardly see any clear skin on his body and if there is any, there’s no doubt in our hearts that he is going to cover up the space with ink, ink and more ink.

  • His Mother Ignited His Passion For Tattoos

At an age when most kids would be hiding their secret tattoos, Wiz openly had one. In fact it was recommended to him by his mother, Peachie Wimbush. He told ‘When I got my first tattoo, I was 16. My mom actually took me to go get it. She asked me if I wanted one and I said yes’.

So basically, she took his ‘tattoo virginity’, it has almost been 13 years later and most of his skin is covered in ink; his virgin ink job blends into a collage of different images and words that cover his arms, torso, back and legs . There is no doubt that she did not see that coming, but we bet he did.

  • Wiz Khalifa’s Tattoos Were Always Part Of The Plan

It appears that Peachie just ignited the flame, the gas was already turned on. Young Wiz already had plans to cover his body in tattoos. These plans date as far back as before his teen years. Even though the artist’s body is almost completely covered in tattoos, his plans are still in motion. He plans to continue getting smaller tattoo additions for the rest of his life.

He told Interview magazine, ‘Even before I got my first tattoo — since I was young — I knew that I wanted to be covered. I just plotted out what I felt and put it on my body to sort of tell my story.’ In addition to that he said, ‘I still leave little places and spaces to add stuff. I want to be getting tattoos forever. I don’t want to run out of space while I’m young. I just really want my tattoos to be meaningful’.

We don’t get it, but we can’t judge him, some people have more bizarre life plans and aspirations.

  • His Face Is Off Limits

Judging by how much body art the artist already has, it would lead one to think that he had no limits whatsoever. If you were thinking in that direction, boy were you wrong. Although the artist ‘loves him some ink’, for the most part, his face remains out of bounds. Hence the reason why it is the only place not covered in tattoos. Besides a few small tattoos that shout out his Taylor gang crew, the artist’s face remains un-inked.

More on the the topic of his ‘face tattoos’ or lack therof, he told BET News, ‘I would not get a tattoo anywhere that’s going to make me look different—under my eyes or on my cheeks or face, right in the middle of my forehead. Anywhere else is fair game.’ It makes us wonder about this ‘Anywhere else’ he speaks of.

  • Though They Are Many, He Has A Favorite Tattoo

Despite the fact that all his tattoos signify something special and meaningful to him, the most meaningful of the bunch is a Martin Luther King Jr. quote, that covers his midriff. Wiz got the tattoo when he was quite young and has admitted that it definitely makes more sense as he ages. The inspiring piece reads, ‘The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.’

This just goes to prove that there is a depth to Wiz khalifa that may go unnoticed if you attempt to judge the book by the cover.
