Xander Bogaerts is a professional baseball player from Aruba, who has made a name for himself in the Major League Baseball (MLB), playing for the Boston Red Sox. It was on October 1, 1992, that the MLB star was born in the capital city of Oranjestad, Aruba as Xander Jan Bogaerts. The kid who would grow to be the greatest baseball player to make it from the Dutch Caribbean Island was born a twin to Jair Bogaerts who now works as an agent.

Popular as X-Man, Xander was raised by his uncle and mother since the age of 2 alongside his brother who also happens to have played professional baseball. At that very young age, his father had moved to Hong Kong, and the responsibility of raising the boys was left for their mother and uncle: Glenroy Brown. He also has a sister, Chandra Bogaerts.

Since as little kids, Xander and his brother were taught the game of baseball by their uncle. For the Boston Red Sox, he was trained to hit almond balls. This was to make him get used to hitting smaller things so that when the real ball comes, it would be very large for him to miss.

His journey to becoming an MLB star is very interesting. This is as the day that Mike Lord who was the scout for Red Sox at the time made it to the island in search for young talents, Xander was down with smallpox. After the exercise, Lord asked if anyone was left to be tried, to which Jair Bogaerts who was the best of the 9 boys that were tried, said his brother was even better than him. With permission from their mother, the Xander got to try and having impressed beyond any doubt, he got signed with his brother before long by the Red Sox.

Xander Bogaerts began in the junior league after he was signed, by playing for the Red Sox in the Dominican Summer League (DSL). At the time, he was 17 but by 18, he played in the Greenville Drive.

His debut in the MLB came in 2013 when he played in the game against the San Francisco Giants. Even though he began his debut season late, he made a lot of impacts and helped his team to win the World Series while becoming the youngest player to record a triple hit in the history of the World Series.

Xander Bogaerts would continue his fine runs in the next season and the subsequent ones, appearing in the MLB All-Star Game of 2016.

Bogaerts got the call to the Dutch national team ahead of the Baseball World Cup in 2011 which the team ended up winning.

Apart from the winnings with his team, he has also recorded some personal achievements such as the Minor League Player of the Year honors by USA Today, just as he made the Baseball America Minor League All-Star Team both in 2013.
